Even redditor soilennials understand the importance of THE SQUAT.
>>77163132The awesome Reddit importance of being an Asian manlet with stubby femurs. Truly epic and worthy of some gold!
>>77163141i am an out of shape, overweight 6’3 non-asian male and i can squat like thatyou might just be obese, anon.
>>77163145Not him, but it's all about your proportions and shit to be able to keep your center of gravity above your feet. Your fat ass belly and/or bigass head is probably balancing you out so you can do this.
>>77163154I can literally go on google right now and find images of Africans (who usually have long limb proportions) rest squatting.
>>77163132Are subreddits like this populated by actual people? How does this exist?
>>77163158Back when reddit was more based than this place I frequented a sub called r/watchniggersdie which was exactly what it sounds like.
>>77163145You realise that morbidly obese Asians can still squat? Fucking stubby legged retard. Also you’ve admitted you’re fat. So you’re a fat stubby legged retard.
>>77163161Sure, but I’m specifically talking about shit like this or r/beards or whatever the fuck. How are real people taking time out of their day to engage with this shit?
>>77163162why do asians act like squatting is some esoteric knowledge?it took me a few seconds the first time I tried to barefoot squat and I just used my bedframe to get into position.i felt like that game meme where the dude turns off his computer and goes>wowit was so anticlimatic and retarded
>>77163162I EXPLICITLY stated that I WASN’T asian.coping lardass>>77163154>proportionswhat proportions do you think would lead to someone being unable to squat like that?

>>77163180i mean i believe that some people have a harder time, but it's not impossible for anyone.the limiting factor for sure is going to be ankle mobility and only ankle mobility. just grab a door frame and lean back and let nature do what it needs to until the ankle relaxes.this is like jeets with their fucking yoga, they act like they created biomechanics with how much they get credit for it, but I was doing stuff like that decades before i knew what yoga was just because it felt good to stretch it.

>>77163132While you have been benching I have been perfecting atg low bar squats. While you were pointlessly isolating biceps triceps and delts, I was doing push and pull compounds. You were doing cardio by running and I was climbing up trees, sprinting, and practicing karate. We are not the same.
>>77163259he literally says ankles are the primary limiter.>if you have limited dorsiflexion that will limit how far back your butt can goi swear to fucking god you fucking jeets have ruined this site.So rethink your fucking stupid ass post you fucking retard. >>77163378Onions?
>>77163391Your newfag is showing
>>77163132>tfw cant stay flat footed trying to squatit's a painful feel
>>77163154it actually depends on the shape of your femur and how it interacts with your hip joint
How do you train to do that squat? I just fall backwards. Not fat btw
>>77163132When I tried to do this it feels like my muscles in the front of my leg are going to rip. I am in my 40s so maybe that's why
>>77163316>he literally says ankles are the primary limiter. No he doesn't asshead. He says that's a possibility and then the entire fucking video is about bone lengths.>i swear to fucking god you fucking jeets have ruined this site.Automatic ad hominem against everyone is probably limiting your intellectual advancement like learning shit.
>>77163472Just try it every day. Go as low as you can for as long as you can. Eventually you'll be able to, but only for a second or two. At that point, just find excuses to hit the pose as often as you can. You can work up to basically being able to do it forever. It's a strength and flexibility thing, not an anatomy thing. I used to think I simply couldn't (very proportionally long legs) but I was wrong.
My femurs are extremely long. My knees are over my shoulders if I hug them to my torso. I have to lean forward in-between my legs like a damn contortionist to maintain a squat with flat feet.
I practiced that with a 15 lb. weight for thirty seconds at a time. in two weeks my hips are not stiff and I can sit squat by myself for a long time comfortably. its really easy all of you guys who cant do this have bad squat form or hips.
>>77163480>if I life on /fit/ people will believe meHe quite literally says>if you have limited dorsiflexion >you physically won't be able to move your buttthe fact that you're willing to die on this hill is just weird because you can test this yourself.if dorsiflexion =/= exist and you try to lower your ass, you will quite literally flip onto your ass with your feet in the air.but than again, 99% chance i'm talking to a fucking jeet.
>>77163161I miss /r/watchpeopledie and /r/fatpeoplehate
>>77163548>if you have limited dorsiflexion>you physically won't be able to move your buttExactly what "he said it was a possibility" means. Here's how this went dumbass. You said ankle mobility was the ONLY reason someone can't squat atg, and more of the video is about OTHER reasons.
>>77163141I'm 6'4" with a short torso long femurs and a 6'7" wingspan, i can deepsquat. You're just out of shape man.
>>77163603and those other reasons cannot even exist without dorsiflexion.Go ahead and try newfag.Try to do a squat with zero dorsiflexion. Film it in fact so we can laugh at you.The very first limiting factor is dorsiflexion and for most people it is the primary limiting factor.Fucking newfags acting like grown ass humans can't just squat because MUH CENTER OF GRAVITY. We have equilibrium, every muscle in your body can independently balance you, that's why god gave you two legs, two arms, two side ab muscles, two QL muscles, two psoas muscles, and a head that can lean both directions + forward and backward. But you still can't do a fucking squat unless your fucking ankle can stretch in a very specific position. So what you going to cherry pick some morbidly obese fat fuck who obviously can't squat because their knees will explode?Give me the average teenage male who can't squat. have him hold a bar to balance himself and the limiting factor is ankle mobility.Once ankle mobility is achieved, he just needs to let his fucking muscles do their fucking job until he can balance himself in a squat position.now get the fuck out of here you fucking jeet.
>>77163742I don't think you watched the whole video but if you did you're short bus material. You can -have hinges for ankles-be weightlessand not get a2g, with a barbell, if your femurs are long while torso and tibias are short. When you get low enough, the barbell is behind your center of gravity no matter what, so you fall backward. Dwarf leg motherfucker.
>>77163753>you're short bus material because I cannot understand biomechanics>YOU CAN JUST NOT DO A SQUAT OKAY BUT IM GOING TO CALL IT A SQUATIf you're not going down for full rom, it's not a squat. that's called an alternative. Some people call it a modified position. So in your hypothetical if people want to do modified squat positions without dorsiflexion suddenly it's achievable. Now in the real world, when we squat, dorsiflexion is required. As in I am sitting in a squatted position. I just realized i'm arguing with a jeet on /fit/. I'm fucking out, got better things to do with my time than try to teach day one exercise form with a fucking third worlder who thinks ass to grass is a modified position and not the absolute standard for squatting.total india range ban when.
>>77163742This is what would happen if you had comically long femurs and tried to squat. Go ahead and try to figure out how they would get below parallel with the barbell (CoG) in front of their heels (Rear balance point).
>>77163764>total india range ban when.No one thinks they're stupid, or they wouldn't be stupid.
>>77163132Anyone can squat like that if the just move their knees out far enough.
>>77163132https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGEKRjlZKf8&t=220sThis must be one of the other consequences of being invaded by <5'5" jeets.I won't be bothered for being over six feet tall or coming from a lineage of people that saw it as normal for even the lowliest peasants to have the luxury of tables and chairs.
>>77163662Why mention wingspan, you absolute retard? You realise this is all about bone length ratios?
>>77163765There’s no point trying to talk to these retards. They don’t understand biomechanics and think that having unathletic bone ratios (shorter femur to tibia ratio) is something to be proud of.
>>77164188Your ankle mobility just socks. Films yourself attempting to squat so we can laugh at you.
>>77163132I injured my left calf a few years ago and it decreased my ankle mobility by a lot. I can still squat but the position is pretty uncomfortable.
The cope in this thread is unbelievable. My wife is 5'3 and has the same inseam as my 6'2 friend. Hips literally in line. She can deep squat. You'll find weightlifters online like Zack Telander who can too. I'm 5'11 and wear a 33 length leg and can also squat. No shit if you make up some impossible ratio where the femurs are 30x the torso length that it would be impossible to do it but that's not the actual world we live in.
>>77164223>My wife is 5'3 and has the same inseam as my 6'2 friendif true: that 6'2" guy is a hyper michael phelps long torso mutant and that says absolutely nothing to support the counterpoint of different biomechanics for different limb & torso length proportions>if you make up some impossible ratio where the femurs arehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGEKRjlZKf8&t=220swatch the video. It's a case study of a real person with long femurs>The copeWhat cope? People with long femurs achieve heels on the ground by widening their stance. There are real limits to dorsiflexion. There is no requirement to maintain the same foot placement as you might have been able to achieve when you were a three year old.Use the stance that achieves the desired forces.
>>77163132I never realized people couldn't do this until I moved to Canada. Where I live, everyone (though particularly older aunties) squats like this while resting. It's just considered low class
>>77164274You haven't even gotten close to hitting your limit on dorsiflexion. This is like roiders who claim they hit their natural limit at 1.5pl8 bench.
One of the most embarrassing threads on /fit/ right now. You mobilitylets should be ashamed of yourselves, your coping excuses aren't worth shit.
>>77163132My hips are stiff because I sitMy calves are tight as fuck because I never stretchMy ankle mobility is in the dumpsterI'll be a western spy for the rest of time
>>77163132It never fails to blow my fucking mind how people find this absolutely basic Homo Sapiens movement difficult, an achievement, or something they need to train for.Like, what the fuck have you people been doing all your lives whenever you needed to do something on the ground? Bring a tiny stool? Sit your lazy ass on the ground? WTF?Then again, the other day I saw a retard on /fit/ saying the disadvantage of plate-loaded spinlock dumbbells is you need a sturdy table to change the plates on (!). Like, the idea you can fucking squat down to reach the floor doesn't even cross people's minds. It's truly amazing.
squats were always reddit
>>77164674>saying the disadvantage of plate-loaded spinlock dumbbells is you need a sturdy table to change the plates onThat was probably me, or at least I say that about my ironmasters. I can deep squat perfectly fine and often rest like that between sets, it doesn't make what I said any less true faggot. Having to change dumbbell plates is already less convenient than quick adjustables, it's no fucking fun having to do it on the ground multiple times every workout. I'm using them right now, 90lbs benching, and use powerhooks to hang them on the barbell between sets. You are deranged to bitch about this.
>>77163132No I cannot become asian.
I'm 6'3" 125kg. I can flat foot squat if I'm holding a goblet squat, or heavy dumbbells on the floor, but even after integrating that post into every workout for near 6 months, I still can't hold it. I'm putting it down to bad proportions and being fat.
>>77164888>it's no fucking fun having to do it on the ground multiple times every workoutIt's no fucking fun having to do it at all, but hoisting the dumbbells and the plates onto a table multiple times every workout is stupid, unless you don't find squat an effortless, passive rest position like a healthy human being should.
>>77164988>hoistFine, I'll shill the exact table.https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09Q5SC43QThe table is 26" at its tallest but the upper walls are 2", so the upper platform is 24" tall. The handle of the dumbbell is about 2-3" higher than that at 26-27" tall. My hands naturally rest about 29" off the ground standing straight. It's a difference of two or three fucking inches, accomplished by the slightest forward lean as I naturally brace myself in front of the table. There is "hoisting."I measured every single thing before I bought it. I didn't just mindlessly buy a 36+" workbench, I was very picky in what I was looking for. I picked dumbbells up off the floor for over a month after I got them, it sucked, and the table is infinitely better. I also bought and cut out some thin rolled rubber to avoid scratching, just because I could. I'm very happy with it.And if it wasn't obvious, I was squatting while taking that image, so the table looks taller than it really is. I was squatting while making that entire first post.
>>77163132You mean Asian smoking position. Me -- I'm still working on heels down proper squats cuz I'm an idiot. That said . . . don't tell me squats are r*ddit, they are important in the home workout pantheon.
>>77163765>if I make up proportions that no human being has, then that hypothetical non-human can't do human movements. This proves that you're wrong.
>>77165915>if I make up proportions that no human being has, then that hypothetical non-human can't do human movements. This proves that you're wrong.
What's the benefit of that pose? I can hold it for a bit but I'm not flexible enough to hold it while staying relaxed
>>77166015I googled "midget squatting" and the very first image is of one going below parallel.
>>77166055>I googled "midget squatting" and the very first image is of one going below parallel. They all can, that's the point. Squat dwarves never shut up about a2g because they certainly aren't doing 100 yard dash.
