What brand of protein powder is the cheapest + cleanest? I know best quality combined with no shit ingredients is a tall order, I just wanna know which one is the closest to being ideal. The Ascent Why in Costco seems good but fuck it's expensive.
try to find some that tests on heavy metals and publishes the results, there are brands like that, I know only local ones though>inb4 tests can be fakeyou need to find one that uses a certified laboratory that will let you cross check results in case you'd want to>inb4 that can be all faked anywaywell, you have to hope it isn't
There's this brand called whole animal products/food, very clean very well renowned and worked well for the past god knows how many million yearsI miss when we had a resident spammer for these threads and his list of athletes that dont use synthetic powders
>>77164783>there are brands like thatSuch as...
>>77164783>>77165170This is probably the 'safest' brand you can find, it's also more expensive than god
>>77164772>>77164783>tfw run out of whey and see the local cheapest brand is out of stock when they weren't a couple days agofuck me man. I can already see the price hike when it's back in a week. The next option is like 10 bucks more expensive per kilo
>>77164772
>>77165289Damn only 20 grams tho?
>>77164772In my experience it’s not worth cheaping out on protein powder, you can end up with some really nasty stuff that you will have to use for months or however long it lasts.
>>77165289Are you legitimately saying this because the label says clean and simple? I feel like if you actually had evidence that they tested for heavy metals you would post it. Their website literally just says that they meet FDA guidelines for lead and cadmium and that's what literally every other supplement that was tested that exceeded the lead and cadmium levels have to comply with.
I would avoid all protein powder. You don't just have to worry about heavy metals in protein powders, but microplastics too. If you're in the UK, you can get cheap eggs and frozen chicken thighs from Iceland. I eat 4 hardboiled eggs and 3 chicken thighs every day, which is around 120g of protein.
>>77165783>I eat 4 hardboiled eggs and 3 chicken thighs every day,Yeah, but that sounds fucking rough, desu. I can make a protein shake with:>30g vanilla protein powder>8g skim milk>8g lowfat greek yogurt>8g cheerios protein Then blend it together and it taste like a fancy dessert with. Who likes eating hard boiled eggs and greasy chicken thighs?
>>77166025this shit might not be for you homie
>>77166025>Eating food sounds rough. Instead, I am going to mix four different processed sources of protein with nearly zero of the nutrition in a blender. Surely this is better.
>>77166046>8oz milk>zero nutrition>b-but i'm gonna eat a half dozen hard boiled eggs and the worst, greasiest cut of shit meat and get my GAINZcope.
>>77166062Yes, the milk is so nutritious that it has to have vitamins added into it, Meanwhile, an egg contains everything necessary for life and is one of the most nutritious foods you could possibly eat and isn't greasy at all, So I've got no idea what you're talking about. Just say you like things that taste like candy and you don't like eggs and don't make a fake argument.
>>77166062>Four is half a dozen.
>>77166062Yes, the milk is so nutritious that it has to have vitamins added into it, Meanwhile, an egg contains everything necessary for life and is one of the most nutritious foods you could possibly eat. Just say you like things that taste like candy and you don't like eggs and don't make a fake argument.
>>77166083>t. boneletdon't @ me when your brittle little bones break. i'm going to be over here sipping my protein shake and pulling bitches while you're crying for being laughed at farting out hard boiled gas and trying to scarf down your 9th serving of chicken for the 14th day in a row.
Is this a good brand or nah?
>>77166355Yes, it is. It's one of the few that doesn't turn your guts to mush and actually manages to taste good.
>>77164772I always get the now sports 10lb bags when I can find them on saleOne of the few 10lb bags of good quality unflavored I have found
>>77166096>no refutation of blatant facts.>Resorts to ad hominumconcession accepted
>>77166355I bought the fruity pebble flavor and it has “edible glitter” dyed with red 40 and other random dyes. Tastes good but I’m not a huge fan of the unnecessary bullcrap in my powders
>>77166484Sorry if this is a retarded question but are those dyes harmful in any way? So can that brand still be clean or close to clean?
>>77166982So I just looked at the ingredient list and the list of dyes are red 3, red 40, blue 1, and yellow 5 if you want to look them up yourself. Honorable mentions of onions lecithin, sucralose and stevia. My only knowledge of food dyes is internet here-say so I’m not positive of the actual effects on your body, but regardless it’s just an extra ingredient I could do without. If you don’t mind that I’d still recommend trying it if you enjoy cereal milk.
>>77164772Best bang for the buck IMO

>>77167045I don't really understand the new trend of clear protein. Is this really just protein that's transparent that you can mix into water and it tastes like a fruity drink rather than something like a vanilla or a chocolate protein powder that's opaque and typically mixed into milk or whatever?
>>77167228>There wouldn't be so much pollution if there was a deli and a pharmacy within walking distance of every single house, Because less people would have cars.Yeah, the thing is that's not the case.
>>77164772chicken
>>77167506You can drink half a litre of clear whey without thinking about it. Having normal whey with milk is a lot heavier and messes with my appetite
>>77167547It's weird how you answered none of my question and instead posited a personal anecdote that described drinking an unreasonable amount of protein and citing your sensitive stomach.
>>77167547Alright, not that guy but I'm confused as well. What the fuck is clear whey? Is it a thing? The way you describe it makes it sound easier to digest than whey, but isn't that just whey isolate? Is clear whey a different thing, perhaps even more 'isolated'? This just reminds me of the time I first read about 'protein water', I thought it was a joke but then I realised it was a real thing. Is that what this is btw, is clear whey another name for protein water? Or is it just premixed RTD whey? All this shit is confusing as hell.
>>77167561whey protein isolate is literally just a flavorless powder byproduct of cheese making. it could have always been made into a clear, fruit flavored drink, but people just made it into chocolate and vanilla flavored shit because it's a dairy byproduct so it probably would go well with dairy related flavors.
>>77167566I know, man. I'm asking about clear whey and protein water.
>>77167572you can just buy whey protein isolate and mix it into water
>>77167574I am aware.
>>77167575so what is your question exactly
>>77167577I'm asking about what exactly are the commercialised products called 'clear whey' and 'protein water' being sold on the market are.
>>77167581like their ingredients? how did i not answer your question then
>>77167581The description is literally in the name.
>>77167555>>77167561It's like drinking a fruit juice instead of a milkshake. It's the same protein but they do some science shit so it's pure liquid
>>77167590Thanks for the straightforward answer. Finally.
>>77167591you must be retarded
>>77167584>>77167586So clear whey is literally just whey isolate? I literally mentioned that in the original post.>isn't that just whey isolate?>>77167590Thank you.Do not be fooled by those insidious marketing terms, my children. It was whey isolate, it is whey isolate, and it will continue be whey isolate. Do not allow this clear whey into your lives and your wallets.
>>77167595OK bro.
>>77167599>what is protein water?>it's water with whey protein in it>no, no, i'm asking what protein water is>it's like fruit juice with science shit>ah, finally, a straightforward answer
>>77167603Didn't read. Sorry you're so upset.
>>77167607i know you can't read english, rajesh
>>77167608>>77167607
>>77167603Bruh, in >>77167561 I asked you whether these new things called clear whey and protein water is just the same as the old whey isolate products. Then in >>77167566 you started telling me about what whey isolate is. I know what it is. I was asking whether these new terms are what marketers are calling it now. You misunderstood the question and then got embarrassed and started slinging insults over it. I get it man, it happens to all of us.
>>77167616sorry you asked a stupid question
>>77167621Apology accepted. Again, it happens to all of us, so don't be shook. But you should look into PMA, it will help your outlook on life greatly.
>>77167506>>77167561You know how jello, tea, and koolaid is made with powder but it's clear albeit colored once its made? It's like that except there's protein in the powder mix. I've been trying picrel and it's actually pretty good. If I had to compare it to anything it almost tastes like liquid jello if that makes sense. I drink it with meals that don't have a ton of protein to give me a macro boost. So far I would recommend.
>>77165505Are you fucking stupid? Most protein is 18-22 grams per serving. Anything else is full of shit protein you're not even going to process
>10.7€ per kgor>5.29 $ per lbThis one wins easily.
>>77168056I'm an europoor too and there's no middle ground in the europoor market for protein powder. It's either good or it's really really bad, it either tastes like complete shit, gives you stomach aches, or there's some other very bad downside. There's no point to buying any other protein powder that aren't the most common ones since they're all terrible in EU zone. I've tried a few so far and stuff like optimum nutrition wins hands down 90% of the time in comparison to other cheaper alternatives.
>>77168046>Most protein is 18 to 22 grams per serving.LOL, you must be getting absolutely garbage quality protein if it's not at least 25.
>>77168074>>77168046I didn't mean for that lol to be capitalized. The way that that post was formatted sounded like I was mocking you, which I wasn't.
>>77167512You'll notice that nothing you said has anything to do with what I said.
>>77168110I'll notice that you don't understand what a metaphor is.
>>77166062>worst, greasiest cut of shit meatmoron
>>77168074>I love pea protein that does nothing for medo you think you absorb everything on a protein bar as well? All protein isn't equal
>>77168179>blatant strawman that addresses none of the statement.Okay, man, you have a good day.
>>77168112Metaphor, strawman, whatever floats your boat. You don't have to walk to the lmao deli, you just have to go outside. You could do it right now, but you won't. You'll sit here incorrectly arguing semantics instead.
>>77168246Yeah, like I said, you don't understand what a metaphor is. I don't know why you keep replying.
>>77168253I'm just trying to get you to go outside. Your misuse of literary concepts is beneath my point.
>>77168267>>77168253
>Calling a metaphor a misuse of literary concepts.>says "beneath my point" - A turn of phrase that literally didn't exist till right now and means absolutely nothing.
This company has no fucking shame. No shame.

>>77169223Lecithin is an estrogenic chemical for menopausal hags. Post a protein powder brand without it.
>>77169188>>77169170Grass-fed protein is a scam, no matter the brand. The difference between grass-fed and grain-fed cows is the lipid profile, aka the fat. The protein and amino acid structure, content and ratios are exactly the same. Protein powder is made by removing all macronutrients including fat from the protein structure. So you're paying more for the name grass-fed while obtaining zero benefits.
