Life Span is how long your alive for, Health span is how much you are actually physically capable and athletic for.

Health General is everything about being resiliant to injury and healing injury.

i don't call it "healing general" because i want it to be valuable even if you have no injuries.

post stuff that is related to making the body resilient to injury, and healing injury.

i have a whole exersize routine thats based on back health because of how fucked up my back got from doing video editing/bjj.

heres a routine that "low back ability" reccomends you built up to in order to rehabilitate your back, specifically he says you should build up to being able to do 30 reps of back extensions in a row, as well as holding a back extension for 2 minutes.

hold a plank for 2 minutes a day

hold a bridge for 5 minutes a day

Thanks anon. Will practice these at the gym, my back hurts all the damn time. Also - side note, anyone else started a Mediterranean diet, been eating a bunch of high protein meal with non-leafy veggies like tomatoes and shit with herbs and olive oil. I feel amazing and my sleep score has improved greatly.

health general is just /fit/

people talk about steroids and peptides in /fraud/, but its all about packing on muscle, not about healing injuries or becomming more resilliant to injuries.

people talk about weightlifting in general on /fit/, but not specifically with regards to rehab or healing injuries or becomming resiliant to injuries, its usually in regards to getting stronger/more aesthetic/better at some kind of athletic thing.

and theres also been discussion about what weight lifting might be useful for mma.

so, a thread SPECIFICALLY for healing and being resiliant to injury seems logical.

and this is not neccessarily to do with just living longer, because that is related to LIFE SPAN, not health span.

health span is literally the medical term for how long you can be athletic for, not just how long you are alive for. becuase you can be 92 and alive, but you need a live in nurse and can't take care of your self, your health span is over.

alot of rehab guys say that you should be generating blood flow to the problem area, and trying to gain streangth.

for example, when it comes to back pain, the youtuber "low back ability" says that there are muscles along side the spine that can get weak, and need to be streangthened.

i have injured my back doing dead lifts, and then healed my back, by doing dead lifts, but at MUCH lower weight, and slow, repetitive movements.

some people argue that, excessive "rest" can cause a problem area to atrophy, and that a balance must be struck between rest, and engagement.

that being said, when doing movements that involve stabilization, particularly on the back, like barbell squats, its important to wear flat stable shoes. (i recently flared up my back by doing barbell squats with unsteady shoes more geared for running)

heres a podcast episode where a man talks about how the 49er's foot ball team is mysteriously prone to having more injuries, and it just happens to be very near by an EMF substation. and the podcast explores that excessive exposure to electromagnetic frequencies can disrupt the mitochondria in our cells, causing oxidative stress, which impairs our mitochondria's ability to generate water, causing us to become dehydrated at a cellular level, which causes us to be more prone to injury.

he points out additionally that collegen is largely comprised of water and he suspects that collegen production is impaired by this as well.
