Too much oxygen in the air.Because the oxygen content was very high, every single thing on earth was more combustible. Fires start more easily, and burn more intensely. So you kind of get a 1+1=3 when you combine that with the impact of the meteor. The biggest problem it caused was all the garbage it threw into the air, which changed the climate around the entire world. But maybe it's possible that there are some species that would have survived, that happened to live in an area that got raped by the explosion itself, an area that was much bigger and hotter because of highly oxygenated air.Also, microbial life. Life is like an arms race between microbial lifeforms that reproduce asexually and lifeforms that reproduce sexually (like us). We reproduce sexually to create variety and come up with new defences against these asexual faggots. We don't have any defences against microbial life that lived back then, you'd get insta raped.
