Kind of the point of a life insurance policy.
But if you can't pay for a funeral or do it on credit the coroner can do interment at a public cemetery kind whenever it can happen. No funeral service, no embalming they just kind of freeze the body and stick it in a cardboard box and either bury it or incinerate it.
Lot of times you'll be pressured to donate or some how the body will end up being donated which legally there's no backsies on even if the person donating it doesn't legally have a right to.

Grandpa wasn't flatbed sized but he was >300lbs and they managed to put him in a regular sized casket. I didn't ask how, but I was a pallbearer and it was heavy as fuck. Later I did the same for a smaller relative's casket and it was a bit (but not a lot) lighter.
