More like cardio, calisthenics, and combat sports is the trinity of fitness.

>most healthy
>most aesthetic
>most functional
>your body in absolute peak performance
>most attractive body type to women
>actual real world strength and endurance
>actual flexibility and full control of your body
>able to actually fight and defend yourself
>look completely unassuming, especially with clothes on, but a complete beast performance wise

compare that to a big, disgusting, bodybuilding roidmonkey who can barely even move his arms, loses to a trained fighter half his weight, is only strong in the exact context of his highly specific gym lifts, has muscle for show rather than strength, and can barely run 100m without getting winded
>>
>>77179562
In which real world scenario do you need to pull yourself up vertically or push yourself up over something vertically. I love pull-ups btw.

Post body op guaranteed you look like a dyel with a shirt on because that’s what will happen if you don’t train for hypertrophy

It's definitely good to decide your behavior based on dumb rules that sound neat
Anyways under what possible argument is calisthenics better than weight training?
Ultimately there are only two important physical adaptations - cardio, and strength. That's it. You can increase your cardio, or increase your strength. You can gain or lose fat, or gain or lose muscle. That's it. Everything is a means to those two goals.
Barbell training is the most effective at gaining strength and muscle. Cardio can be approached a lot of ways but outside of sports not much is actually necessary or particularly beneficial.
All that being said. Post body, OP.

did calisthenics for years. switched to gym last year. immediately blew up. calisthenics is alright but it doesn't compare
switching from calisthenics to weightlifting is goated tho cause you come from a decent physique and stack noob gains on top of it
>>
>>77179628
cardiovascular gains are very valuable. cardio is not a means of losing fat at all. the best way to lose fat is putting on muscle to increase tdee and adjusting your diet. weightlifting may burn less calories each time but in the long run is better for fat control than cardio.
however, good cardio allows you to do intense physical activity for prolonged periods of time, makes your heart and lungs stronger, improves blood flow, keeps your sugar and blood pressure down and helps prevent chronic diseased in the long run. cardio is extremely beneficial, much more so than lifting weights
>>
>>77179635
Yes, but you see if you exclusively stick to calisthenics, you have an excuse (cope) for why you don't look as big as other people.
>>
>>77179647
you can cope by realizing you work out outdoors freely while gym goers go to an artificially lit crowded room that stinks of sweat and have to wait for retards, women and old people to stop doing retarded shit to finally work out while paying on top of it
in every aspect except for gains calisthenics is superior
>>
>>77179654
>in every aspect except for gains calisthenics is superior
Lmao, even if that was true, calisthenics would still be inferior in the one aspect that counts.
>>
>>77179603
climbing a tree for fun
>>
>>77179668
that's why most prefer to lift
honestly tho calisthenics is a much better starting point. I'm sick of people using the bench to press less than a push up. when I started lifting I could already bench 80kg because of all the dips and push ups variations I did before. with no equipment, no risk of injury, for free and without getting in the way of other people trying to work out. there's a point in calisthenics in which it becomes very hard to keep making progress and that's a good cue to switch, but since gains are about similar early on when you're a newfag going to the gym is absolutely pointless, since it's outclassed in every aspect but gains and matched in that one at that stage

>strength training (free weights only)
>powersharting
Im curious as to what you think both words mean
>>
>>77179700
Based. Calisthenics is great for beginners, and honestly a better starting point for sedentaries than lifting. Newbies should do calisthenics for a few months at least before setting foot into a gym
>>
>>77179559
Btw OP is a massive faggot and the shittest-tier of any possible list
>>
>>77179559
Your spinal erectors and glutes are the most important muscles for real world strength, performance and combat ability, how would you train them without lifting weights unless you count squats as weighted calisthenics
>>
>>77179701
Powersharters are all morbidly obese, roidtrannies, and usually only do handful of (zero functionality) compound lifts

>>77179751
arch ups and nordic curls

Unless you are very obese is as useless as doing bodyweight squats
>nordic curls
Actually a useful lift but it trains the hamstrings not the glutes or erectors

This is calisthenics best answer to deadlifts:

I think you're confusing powersharting with people who say they do powersharting because they can't control their diets.
>>77179559
Tier list for what, exactly?
>>
>>77179562
>>77179700
I like weighted calestenics + weights for what it doesn't cover. Weighted pullups, dips, and free weights like RDLs, then something for your traps/delts/biceps. I just like compouds

>>77179863
Roman chair back extentions are pretty good too. Although you still need a piece of equpiment for them

Meaningless words shoved in a heap of baseless bad faith assumptions

powersharters are so fucking disgusting. Maybe the ROM would be longer if you weren't a 400 lb piece of shit.

Ultramarathoners die younger than bodybuilders

No thank you

statistics show the complete opposite btw. Ultra-runners live longer than average while bodybuilders live significantly shorter

You're very stupid. Does the term "weight class" mean anything to you?
Every use of the word "powershitter" seems be by someone retarded. How curious.

White collar chads don't wreck their bodies, make more than you, and are bigger than you since they can recover from the gym better

Yes, better stay away from the douchehouse
>>
>>77181254
he obviously has never ser foot in a gym. the gym is not a douchehouse but a mental asylum. every day I see someone doing something absolutely retarded with the equipment I'm trying to use. I wish the gym was actually full of douches, at least I'd expect them to know how to use what's available properly
yesterday there was a nicocado fatass doing some gay stretches and getting in the way of racking weights because of how much space his fat ass was taking. you never have to deal with that shit when working out outdoors
>>
I think the reason calisthenics was always prescribed for fighters is because
(a) lifting can make you musclebound, reduce your mobility etc. (it doesn't have to, but it CAN)
(b) high rep calisthenics enhances the capillaries that cross your muscles, meaning more nutrients can be delivered TO the muscles, and more waste products removed FROM the muscles, which enhances athletic performance
>>77179635
So you spent years enhancing your capillary network, then switched to lifting
Suddenly you put a big stimulus on your muscles, which are well equipped to recover and restore and grow, through all the capillaries you made from calisthenics
Result? Big gains
And this is why we should prioritise calisthenics for kids and youths, to prepare them to lift later on (once their growth plates have fused, so we don't accidentally make them all manlets)
>>
>>77181264
I know its counterintuitive to their profit incentive but I wish gyms would close the books for the first 3 months of the year
>>
>>77179559
Being strong is fun. I lift heavy things easily

God-tier when it comes to brain damage, that is.
