let me guess, you benched?

Light reverse bench heals it thank me later. Beef up your shoulders, particularly front delts. Back too.

Not OP but I think my shoulder's been injured for more than 2 weeks and I can barely lift. Still not going to a hospital though.

I shattered my collarbone a year ago and only just started pushing myself out of the PT zone and started setting PRs again. Its ok bro. Take it easy for a bit.

Don't push yourself too hard and see a doctor if necessary, fren

I've only just recently gotten to the point where I feel like my shoulder has meaningfully recovered from an injury years ago. It's nowhere near 100%, but it's been such a boost to my mental outlook I've been actually thinking my life can improve instead of slowly getting worse over time as I age.
It took me a while to figure out actually how to properly rehab it, and since that injury I've had other setbacks that kept disrupting my efforts to recover. It's been awful. But I now feel it's possible to strengthen up those connective tissues. I can do things with that shoulder I haven't been able to in a long time.
So, don't get too depressed. Get your shit figured out and then do the PT, consistently. I wish I had managed to do that right away and it would've saved me a lot of pain and suffering over the years. Slow and steady wins the race.
Basically I use resistance bands for low impact. Started very light, but even just using the weight of the arm as resistance and slowly going through the motions can help stimulate repair and strengthening of connective tissue. If the arm's own weight is too much, use your other arm to help it and take some of the load off. The goal is to not make things worse by overdoing it, but provide stimulation in the tissues that need it, basic progressive overload until it's able to handle what it used to be able to.

Do you think that your injured side is weaker than the other one, due to the injury? or is the lingering effect only some leftover pain

I realized the other day my external rotation is FUUUUCKED
>>
>>77179964
do 45° straight arm raises. You might've just injujred your rotators
>>
>>77179964
Have happened to me. I assume it was rotator cuff. Fucked it up by doing ohp and shoulder press back to back (ohp 60kgx8x5, and shoulder machine press 100kgx6 killed it). Fixed it by not doing either of those for a month and after that returning to ohp with reduced weight (starting with 20kg). Doesn't ever go away fully, but does not interfere much either. It has been a year now and I got to 100kg ohp and 155kg bench press, and the only remainder is that it feels like my arms are going to fall off after latteral raises for good 15minutes.

>i woke up and it was just there
If the pain is next day it's certainly not muscular
>>
>>77179964
You leave the shoulder bros the fuck alone, freak. Quit hurting them or I will hurt you.
>>
>>77179964
Be very careful with that, I fucked up my shoulder during my teens and never properly addressed it. More than a decade later and it only got worse, to the point I only barely escaped needing surgery.
It got to the point where it would dislocate if I rested it wrong on the armchair. I tried working on it by myself, and while it helped, I also made it worse by going too far a few times. It only got significantly better with professional physiotherapy.
Your case is probably not as dire as mine, but don't hesitate to go to a professional if it becomes reoccurring, because every fuckup makes it easier for the next time to happen.

>iam a kettlebell guy and i guess it came from overhead press
If I were to guess, if it's not just muscle pain, might just be some mild bursitis. It's basically your joint padding tissue swelling and pushing stuff around. But it's likely muscular by your description. Either way, you can probably address it by doing mobility exercises for your shoulders, neck and back. I used to have that pain too, and after being told to do this stuff in physio it went away.

>I wish I had managed to do that right away and it would've saved me a lot of pain and suffering over the years.

Exactly. It sucks when the first thing to fail during your squats is your shoulder. To be fair, it's probably something much milder for OP, so I'm mostly just ranting.
