FitNotes is my favorite workout tracking app because there are no ads, no social features, and my data isn't being harvested. Is there a similar app for macro tracking? I'm sick of ads galore from MyFitnessPal and LoseIt. I tried the free trial of MacroFactor and I'm not impressed enough with it to pay the crazy price they want for it. I would even manually enter foods instead of using a bar code scanner or database considering the shit is always wrong anyways. And they're all harvesting your data. So again, is there a FitNotes but for macro tracking?

>>77180837Hell yeah brother, I've been using it for 3 years now I think. It really is the best at what it does, I'm shocked it's free. I wonder if I could contact the dev and beg him to program a macro tracker lol
I like alpha progression :)
there are a few free (as in freedom) food tracking apps. I haven't used any of them. You can find some here: https://search.f-droid.org/?q=nutrition&lang=enyou could try to find more by searching for different keywords.Energize seems promising.

>>77180833Cronometer. Very few ads and they’re so easy to dismiss I hardly notice them. I use it to look up macros for my meal plan spreadsheet, but they’re tracking and scanning capabilities are decent as well.
>>77181130can vouch for cronometer until it turns to shit like loseit its the go to as far as im concerned
>>77181130*theirFucking autocorrect…
if you use fitnotes please email the dev & ask for drop set support

>>77180833If it's so vanilla just learn to use excel retard
I have used both cronometer and MyNetDiary, I prefer cronometer because it gives you more analytics even as a free user, but both are good. You have to consider the massive databases calorie trackers have to have, whereas a lift tracker is basically a polished spreadsheet, so there are very few good independently developed calorie trackers. Another thing worth mentioning is that LoseIt sometimes runs sales for lifetime premium, so that’s worth keeping an eye on if you were willing to pay a one time fee. For me it’s Cronometer though.
>>77180833Fitdays+ on Play Store Free and connects to my bluetooth scales. You will need to add most foods cause their database is sparse or often wrong but it takes 1 min to add something and you only have to do it once.
StrengthLog is goat for tracking lifting
>>77180833No, there isn't. MyFitnessPal is still the best imo. All you have to do is install an ad blocker and then a modded apk which unlocks all the features. Shouldn't take more than 5 min if you're not tech illiterate.
>>77181146Its a shame what happened to loseit. Might try out chronometer.
I WISH ALL FELLOW FITNOTES USERS A WONDERFUL DAYMAY YOU MARRY THE WOMAN OF YOUR DREAMS AND IMPREGNATE HER AND SUCKLE ON HER BIG PREGNANT MILKERS
I had good luck with Cronometer and Macrofactor. I like the algo on the second one, it gets really dialed in to within 50 or so kcal after awhile. Cronometer has much better tracking though and the database is better. If you want more actual information about your diet I would go for Cronometer. Its also cheaper.
>>77180833>another Fitnotes usermy fucking mandev is funny as fuck for updating it randomly after 3+ years only to add dark mode kek (11 years without it btw lmaoo)
>>77181201>Hold up, let me open my excel fucking spreadsheet at the gym between sets.Yeah, that's not going to fly. I know how to use excel, but that's just too much hassle when I just want a way to track my reps.>>77181195This works, but I'm already bringing my phone, It'd be nice to just have something on my phone so I don't have to remember to bring a pen and a notebook whenever I head to the gym.
>>77180833Food You is on F-droid and is good. It's not freemium dogshit like every other calorie tracker, and the dev incorporated all the features I asked him to that I missed from other apps eg you can explode recipe presets when you add them to modify ingredient proportions if you like, just like cronometer, and you can add quick macros if you don't want to write out a full entry for a one-off thing you ate, like another macro tracker I liked but didn't have as good UI. That's thanks to my suggestions, you're welcome.Fully offline, you can download a database if you want or just use your manual entries.
>>77182446Great rec, thanks
I use flexify as my foss training tracking app
