I started working out on my own a few months back. I just have this want to do so much more but I feel physically in capable. In the past 4 months I injured myself three times. I wasn't ego lifting and I was focusing on control and form. Another issue I'm facing is breathing, I can't breath while my core is engaged. It's all so pathetic, am I even cut out for this ?
>>77181140Don't be so hard on yourself bro, you're doing so much more than 99% of people. It's just a rough start.
>>77181140injured how? strain? pull? tear? hurt feelings? fuck you mean
>>77181213So far I have pulled my lower back twice and partially tore a quad tendon. I am pretty sure I iritated a few disks too. The quad injury especially sucks because it happened when I was warming up.
>>77181208Am I though? It seriously cannot be this hard.
U got this. I was premature, had health problems my whole life, was a stick who looks like a crack addict. Have scoliosis. I stay getting mires now.Honestly, consistency over a long period of time is probably the most important aspect of fitness. Youtubers suck but they can help by watching "form". Really focus on the squueze of the targeted muscle "mind muscle connection "
>>77181140>>77181215i've fucked my back atleast once a year for 4+ years while my upper body was progressing totally normally. it was until i dropped my ego and i realized i was a nerd and had no right to be hitting legs twice a week when i've gone through life without playing sports nor being physically active for 20 years of my life, especially as a human being where ive had months were my daily step count was less than 3k.If you resonate with this background then that basically just means you have shitty foundation, lower the load for leg day and keep it to once a week or maybe even cut it out until you recover within a few months, focus on being active - walk, run, and hike more, put your body through more range of motion and also built a strong core. we're subhumans who didnt live like we were meant to grow up as, the good news is a few years and you can rebuild the lower body mobility to that of a normal human being. good news is that girls dont really care about the lower body and running and hiking is trendy now so its easy to have an ego death about one's lower body ability.
>>77181140Your foundation is shit. Lower the weight, raise the reps and stretch really well before working out. Get your core more involved in your lifts even if the weight is only a quarter of your max.
>>77181906I'm doing around 1/3 of what I can and my reps are close to 20, but you're definitely right. I need to stretch properly idk why, but it never feels right. Any videos or stretch drills you'd recommend?
>>77181887I kinda resonate, I have lived like 4 years where I had to do 14kish steps a day, but that is long gone. I don't really hit legs beyond body weight or light dumbbells squats, and rdls. I really don't like how my scoliosis looks in the recordings of me doing these exercises regardless. Since I am quite the beginner, I just doing full body twice, or I recover fast enough, thrice a week. I just lookincorrectly put together.
>>77181215Go into more detail how you tore your quad tendon. How did you warmup? Was it hurting that morning? Was it hurting that week? Was it constantly bothering you?
>>77181140how do you faggots keep getting injured? ive been lifting for 4 years and never got injured even once and i am 15%bf powershitter, gym consistently 4x a week. do you guys just not do stretches at all or warmup before sets
>>77182910you don't push yourself
>>77182896I have khyphosis so I have a bit of forward lean when I'm squatting. I was doing body weight squats before actually holding on to my 15 lbs pair. On my 5th or 6th when i went down, I felt my knee move in a very unnatural way. I couldn't bend it without pain for a few days. Now the pain doesn't really kick in until I do a few lunges or squats. If I had to assume, I had a trigger point that I didn't stretch out properly.
Go away trooned out WOG
>>77181140When i started lifting, i used to vomit, ached all over, felt weak, injured myself. But now about 3-4 years in, i feel nothing, you just gotta get used to it
>>77183449One time i left the gym and immeadietly puked infront of the door at the coffee place next door. I had forgotten i used to feel sick after jogging when i first started.
>>77182980Unless you're 80yo or did something stupid then you should probably just give up squatting and lunges. Sounds like your genetics are cooked, my nigga. Dragging around a weight sled backwards would be better for you when resistance training. You could also pay for training from a coach at a powerlifting or olympic weightlifting gym, they'll teach you the right way to do things but they are expensive but not as expensive as quad tendon repair surgery.
