>doing upright rows
>didn't quite feel the burn or muscle connection in my delts, but still got to failure
>do a few slow reps at home with light weight just to lock in the connection
>instantly pinch left shoulder

What the fuck is up with new worlders and getting injured from upright rows.

Don't lift the bar past your clavicle. Don't try to work through an injury. You will ignore this advice 100%

stop doing upright rows you fucking nigger. did you really need to make a thread to figure out that upright rows are a BS exercise?

Yeah a row is a bs exercise.

upright rows are one of the most terrible exercises in existence. there’s an immense amount of people going to snap city from them, and they are not even effective

What is impingement:
>rotating your arms and shit wrong then load on it and the tendon is crushed and ground
What else damages joints:
A wide grip incline is the best way to stretch and put all the strain on the mid delt tendons around the shoulder joint, the mid delt part is usually what is gonna be in pain from pressing and pulling movements. You can strengthen it purposely or do form that you move less weight and strain it less. But look at andrey smaev he got huge doing half reps where most people would not be able to continue training.

If you've got an actual injury, don't train through it and go see a physio.
If you want to generally improve your shoulders, ask chatgpt

>do exercise wrong and still go to failure and irritate/possibly injure something
>better irritate it some more at home not warmed up
>how could upright rows do this to me?

best thing is to take it as a lesson and realize what you did wrong and what to work on
but i guess you won't
