When I was young I enlisted in the Marines. I was never truly /fit/ but decent enough to get in. When I was in MEPs doing physicals and taking the ASVAB, there were lots of other guys going through the same process. At one point we're all sitting around in boxers waiting to be called. This Air Force recruit sitting next to me was ripped, probably 8% or less and jacked. No joke best physique I ever saw in person. I wanted to compliment him but all my autistic brain could muster was "damn bro you hit the gym." He didn't say anything but became extremely uncomfortable and embarrassed. Another recruit said "that's pretty fucking gay dude." This was in the height of don't ask don't tell. To this day I have nightmares about that moment almost 16 years later. I'm married with 2 kids and that shit still gets me shook.
