He sounds like a cool dude that I'd like to have a beer with. He has a nice physique and presents (at least in his videos) a good mindset towards fitness and life overall. There's a study from a Canadian university, I think, about the half-rep rom stuff that he talks about and it turns out there's some validity to it. It does improve hipertrophy but you shouldn't make your workouts based solely on this principle. Like Jesse himself said "It's just another tool in the toolbox."

It's not a bad strategy but it's going to be garbage for things like chest where doing that imperils the shoulder. In the absence of weight increases it's also going to have a very limited time where it's doing anything. You have the whole differnt parts of the rom have differnt amounts of tensions on different muscles so things can get neglected.

It's okay for pullups because you can break it down into 2 or 3 rom segments bottom of the rep, top of the rep and mid rep to better work on all those parts in isolation then bring it all together to be stronger at pullups. That's not a new thing though.
