Drinking alcohol is the least /fit/ thing you can possibly do.
Alcohol isn’t just “extra calories.” It tanks recovery, screws your sleep, lowers test, and slows muscle growth. You’re literally making your workouts less effective.

>inb4 “mOdErAtIoN”
yeah, that just means less damage, not no damage.
>inb4 “I still make gains”
cool, you’d make more without it.
>inb4 “Helps me relax”
Short term, maybe. Long term increases stress and anxiety, also wrecks deep sleep, so not really.
>inb4 “Fits my macros”
macros don’t fix trash recovery

Arnold was jewish. Did Gay4Pay to get into American bodybuilding and to pay off roids. He started the entire trend of men having big tits, because his sponsor Weider liked to tittyfuck him.

>3 beers halves your protein synthesis and raises estrogen
I'd argue 2-3 10% beers might put you at 85% muscle building, and sobering up happens faster and puts you back at a negligible disadvantage. However being actually drunk, or alcohol poisoning levels will actually have your liver at 75-100% capacity pretty quickly to where you're barely building any muscle. True alcoholics are at .2 BAC when they start drinking for a good feeling. Deep sleep is the same, be at 1-2 beers BAC before bed and you aren't that bad off.

That being said op you sound like rainman over here using 3 different bicep machines on the bicep focused pull day where you focus rear delts more than lats like dude just lift weights and look in the mirror this shit isn't rocket science.

I've been drinking most nights for a couple months and I'm finally starting to grow chest hair at 32, so yeah get rekt OP

I don't care

>>77190174
That’s funny. I didn’t have chest hair until I spent two months in a near perpetual state of being blacked out while I wasn’t smoking crack during Covid lockdown; also at 32 years of age!

I love drinking in excess. I don't understand people who have one or two, then stop without wanting more. If I have a drink, I am compelled to want more.

Once I start, I do not stop without great effort. It is much easier for me not to drink at all. Instead of moderating. I'd rather have a seltzer with lime with 0 calories than drink two 150 calorie beers slowly and not get buzzed. Moderation doesn't make sense any way. Why drink the calories to make sure you don't get drunk?

This is why I don't drink any more. Down 10lbs in a month without making other changes.

true alcohol is shit
>>
>>77189137
There's a reason why, asides from people with religious occupations, alcoholism rates are the lowest among medical professionals.

If you know what alcohol actually does from a biological perspective, you will never allow a single drop of that garbage to enter your body.

There's two sides to it. One is it literally tears apart biological structures. Disintegrates DNA, certain proteins, lipids. Either your body loses shit, or it has to spend energy to prevent shit from breaking apart. Mitochrondria (that are the primary site of energy metabolism in your body) "suffocate" (hypoxia).

Alcohol also has some specific metabolic pathways that consume a lot of co-factors (parts of certain stages of metabolism). Because alcohol can be metabolized all over the body, it drains these co-factors from other metabolic processes that depend on them. On its way to the liver (where most of it is metabolized), it damages the lining of the stomach and intestinal tract. This opens up the way for bacteria to get to places they shouldn't go, requiring a heavy immune response from the body (which always uses up a lot of resources, which is why feeling sick is always so terrible).

tl;dr alcohol is literally a poison

You're literally me. I can go for months without having any alcohol, even beer. But when I start drinking it's a heavy binge for days. Being drunk for days feels so fucking nice, freedom is nice.

When you do live a little, you don't need 8+ beers to have a good buzz you drink a few and you're done.

thank you bro. it's been a struggle for most of my adult life. I've finally come to the realization that my relationship with alcohol is not healthy. I'll have a little after a long period of going dry and doing well in life. Then quickly spiral into drinking a liter of vodka every day. Ruining progress at work, my health, and social life.

I know that I have poor impulse control with alcohol and I just need to stay away altogether.
>brother, father, uncles, grandparents are all alcoholics
>thanks scottish blood.
