I fucked up my lower back up from sitting too much and had to go to physical therapy. I couldn't squat or deadlift. Apparently my glutes aren't firing & now I have to do a bunch of resistance band exercises every day. 30m ngmi. Let this be a warning to all of you.
wtf do you mean sitting too much, like when you go to church and stand up then sit down several times or just being a lazy slob sitting on his ass in front of the computer the entire day?because if its the second one no warning was needed
>>77194724Same boat, brother. I'm 42 and have pulled my back a hundred times. I have to stretch my hips and ankles daily. That's the problem with a 9-5 desk job.
I'm switching to a standing desk. This has been a wakeup call, I hope things go back to normal>>77194733It's not that difficult to sit in the same posture for 3 hours uninterrupted if you are deeply focused on something.
>>77194724What band exercises are you doing?
>>77194750all reps you hold 3 sec at start/endpoint>10x clench glutes to activate mind muscle connection>3x10 glute bridge>3x10 clamshell with a resistance band around thighs while doing a glute bridge at the same time>3x10 standing hip abduction with a resistance band around thighs
>>77194724>Gluteal AmnesiaI know a lot of white women with gluteal amnesia>>77194764These are pretty good though
>>77194743it's also not that difficult to go to the gym a few times a week and do some stretching every day to keep in good shape as a cope for your sedentary lifestyle>oh wow I spent the entire day without moving my ass guess I'll do nothing about itt. total idiots. a miracle you can stay focused for 3 hours really
>>77194795Yeah, haha!, I agree that OP is such a idiot like you said, haha! We are the cool ones!
>>77194724>>77194764I've been there too anon, this is fixable but takes work and time. Here's a PROTIP I learned the hard way: if your glutes are inhibited, the goal of exercises is not as much "strengthening", as it is neural re-education, i.e. teaching your nervous system to choose to use the glutes rather than compensatory muscles it learned to rely on for certain movements. Don't make my mistake and approach it with gym mentality of cranking reps and adding resistance, because all that will accomplish is strengthen the compensatory muscles and reinforce the dysfunction. You need to be extremely mindful of what muscles are firing at all times, even if that means you'll need to start with no resistance at all and a teeny-tiny ROM. It took me literal months before I was able to feel DOMS from glute exercises in my actual glutes, not in my hams, QLs, adductors and everywhere else.
>>77194724Make sure you don't half ass your workouts.
Brothers, I’m in the same boat. Currently 36, work in finance, started getting lower back pain about a year after leaving uni while studying for CA. Got worse, nothing really worked, physio, constant stretching, foam rolling, trying different things.Got to point in 2024 where pain was constant, couldn’t train, couldn’t stand, couldn’t sit, pain putting on socks. Then, catastrophic melt down in Jan 205, spine bent out of shape, all movement gone, bed bound for 3 weeks. Spent time recovering, doing band’s religiously, doing stretches and foam rolling. Gets better. Then catastrophic melt down again in May 2025. FML, could literally end it all. Went to chiropractor and he said I don’t have slipped disk or herniated disk or anything. Just general SI joint mumbo jumbo. Found a guy online and signed up to his training program. Within 6 weeks, all pain gone, better functionality and movement than I’ve had in probably 10 years. I was dubious about the guy but he really helped. Lemme know if you want to know what he told me to do
>>77194724>>77195103Try light kettlebell swings ma brahz, something like 8-12kg
>>77195103> chiropractorbad, dangerous. pseudoscientific discipline. like naturopathy

>>77194724IKTF; but I also have transversus amnesia, if that's a thing. Don't relax your supposedly tight muscles too much, guys. It's not good for you.
>>77194724Wow, even more bald!
