no cap, did your chest grow from flys or is this a useless movement like lateral raises?
>>77196685me when when I forget sunblock on my nipples
>>77196685Just bench press
lateral raises are the most useful movement in the gym for increasing your aesthetics
>>77196685>did your chest grow from an exercise that perfectly follows the natural function of the pecs and that every single bodybuilder that has a big chest has done extensively?idk chief it's a mystery
>>77196697Are you german by any chance?
>>77196685Shut the FUCK UP, ZOOMER SCUM.
>>77196685They're ok, but worse than cable chest flys
>>77196685lateral raises worked in just a few months for me
>>77196788Lies, arm ( humerus) must be alngside body and weighed down with shoulder protraction - this shit only mangles shoulders
Is this why modern body builders have such small, tiny chests? They only do flys and never bench heavy?
>>77196685>lateral raises>uselessShould I be doing something else for those muscles instead?
>>77196685>this a useless movement like lateral raises?you are a fucking retard
>>77197165nah there is nothing else to really target the side delt. There is some debate over dumbbells vs cables, and a million variations but you need to be doing some type of lateral raises if you want to look your best
>>77197005I want you to just for a moment in your room mime the motion of a bench press and then mime the motion of a pec deck. Notice that your humerus (aside from a possible difference in elbow flare) takes the same path? the function of the pec is humeral adduction - to bring your upper arm from out, in to your midline. Simple as.>>77196702If you have to pick one I would say yeah bench is gonna be higher ROI for sure because you can load it more heavily, but for accumulating quality pec volume with a less fatiguing movement flyes can’t really be beaten.>>77196900>this exercise that forces you to stabilize yourself and compromises your form as you eventually move weights heavier than your bodyweight is superior to a lift with perfect stability where the range of motion is standardized at every weight>>77196685>lateral raise>uselesspush them harder, dork
>>77196685yes
>>77196685Ultimate pec activation is achieved from dumbbell bench. Follows the natural motion of the pec (like flys) but also allows you to go heavy (like bench). Getting into position is the only catch imo.
do you regards that don't believe in isolation movements have any physiological arguments?
>>77197552This Anon benches.>>77196685I wish my gym had the one where instead of grabbing handles, you push a pad with the inside of your elbow
>>77197552Thanks for the advice
>>77198743My argument is not physiological its more just mathematical. The bigger a lift is in terms of weight, the smaller the increments that it can be increased on a percentage basis. If you are doing lateral raises with 20 pounds on cable, and the next slot up is 25 pounds, thats a 25% jump. Thats massive. You might do cable lateral raises for years and never make gains beyond a few reps. Conversely if you deadlift 500 pounds, you can throw a 5 pound plate on there, thats only a 1% increase. You can just keep getting stronger with deadlift until you are monstrously strong. So yeah, bigger numbers is better. Progressive overload is the name of the game. I still enjoy doing lateral raises with cables to get a pump, but its auxillary and not the core of my training.
>>77196685do you even lift fucking faggot
>>77197165BTN pressScott pressHandstand pushups
>>77197184farmer walks work better than lateral raises but it's way more miserable and manlet hands can't handle it
>>77196685I easily max out this machine so I feel like it isn't doing much
>>77199130>increasing weight is the only way to progressively overloadMidwit
>>77196685Initially no, but later yes. It took some finessing with form and weight where I could really end sets with strong chest squeeze. But I've had all manner of issues in the past isolating chest. It just doesn't want to happen unless your shoulder is really stable and fresh so I started doing it first thing, do it slow, bend elbows in the back half of the rep and really extend out to straight arm ay the top of the rep. Don't be afraid to milk half reps in your last set or set the angle more narrow if your shoulders don't like the default.
>>77197200Truth nuke. But tbf I tuck my elbows on bench so my humorous goes from down to up, not out to in (like it does on flies)
>>77196685Incline smith is the best chest builder, machine flies are second.
>>77199130https://youtu.be/8RelOzNkxyU
>>77196685lateral raises are goat
>>77196685>useless movement>lateral raisesAt this point, what you need is commitment to training not skepticism.
>>77196685they really started to work for me once i got my bench up first. Idk why, maybe other supporting muscles were too weak to properly use this machine.
