Advice for new runners:- Build up speed and mileage SLOOOOOWLY (start with 15 minutes, increase mileage at most 10% per week);- It will feel like you're going slow, you are; don't worry about setting good times for a couple of months;- If you start to feel pain anywhere, stop and rest;- Don't try to copy what pros are doing. Do what feels natural; and- Once you can comfortably roon 6 miles/10km, start thinking about a goal in terms of race distance and time, and look for a training plan for that goal (see below for suggested plans).>Couch to 5k/Bridge to 10k Guideshttps://www.nhs.uk/live-well/exercise/running-and-aerobic-exercises/get-running-with-couch-to-5k/https://i.imgur.com/ef98R.png(embed)https://i.imgur.com/qNJIy.png(embed)>I want to run a fast 5k, 10k, half-marathon, or marathonhttps://www.runningfastr.com/https://www.halhigdon.com/cock and ball torturehttps://sites.google.com/view/sub-threshold/home>I want to stretchhttps://www.runnersworld.com/uk/training/beginners/a32172701/how-to-stretch-post-run/>Performance calculatorshttps://runbundle.com/tools/age-grading-calculatorhttps://vdoto2.com/calculator/https://runrepeat.com/how-do-you-masure-up-the-runners-percentile-calculatorhttps://lactrace.com/norwegian-singlesOld: >>77182577

>>77197617Are you drinking at all? Could be irregularities in blood volume or electrolyte levels. Those alway mess with my hr big time.
>>77197617Everything always seems to get weird during the taper. I know it’s not a lot of miles but why are you doing marathon pace about a week out? Take it easy.
>>77197538just remembered >late at the bar a few weeks ago after roon club>12:30AM>maybe 6-7 drinks deep>the 28-year old girl who’s been dropping hints>told me i should “really sign up” for a 12-hour relay race that will take our whole group out of town for a full day together and an overnight on another city with partying and alcohol and hotel roomsshould i read into this anons?

Hello /roon/I'm a fat bulky MF (6ft - 260lbs) but I have excellent cardio due to running every other day a few km with my dogs (pic rel). However as soon as I try to increase mileage and/or speed, my right hip starts to hurt and I have discomfort in it for a few days. Any tips beside the obvious (lose weight?) but it's puzzling it's only the right hip and not the left one.
>>77197932>increase mileage and/or speedhow much of an increase?
>>77197935My regular run is a 4km loop that is 70% road and 30% wooded trail. I do it between 25-28mins (depends also on how much the dogs wants to pause to sniff and piss), but as soon as I try to push myself to ensure I do it in less than 25 mins, pain.
ABANDONED my track session after 2 reps. Had no legs at all. HR was still low but legs were completely dead. Happens sometimes after a rest day. fuggit live to fight another day
>>77197775It looks good, but I’m gonna judge you for buying the $150 tshirt with holes in it.

What are YOU listening to on your roons anon???? I recently started the Dresden Files series and its about this wizard detective guy who goes on to solve pretty wacky / gruesome cases. Im on the first book and im enjoying it very much so far. I imagine everything in black and white like those old noir detective stories where it constantly rains outside. Very comfy.

avoid tights, your quads aren't juicy enoughstick to 4 or 5" shorts and go topless
Nice roon. Found a good route. May revisit it
>>77198719God bless your tracking autism, but to what end is all this data keeping when it has taken four years to get a sub 30 5k. You need to put some tempo runs or hill runs or SOMETHING in rather than plinking along at a 9:00 pace for days
>>77199247Thank you, I don't really have a reason other than I like making spreadsheetsI'm coming back from an injury (not really healed, it still hurts), but I'll do some tempo runs when I can. I was a lot faster over the summer when I did a HM. I don't do intervals because that (and the cold) is what gets me injured. Unfortunately, there aren't a lot of good hills around here, they all involve running very close to traffic. There are good flat trails though.
>what distance runners really look likehttps://youtu.be/wppD5DIO0X0
I am thinking of a 30 day challenge. I don't run because every time i try to do running, after a few weeks i just can't recover from pushing myself too hard. 5km a day, staying in zone 2, 30 days. should i run 5k as fast as i can before and after this? or just stick to zone 2 because it's all i intend to do?
My feet and achilles are always fucking killing me at the end of my long runs. Did a 13 miler today and still feel like I have plenty of energy but my footstrike really starts getting affected by the end of it. Is it just how it is?
>>77199492Seems like a bad idea especially if it's every day. I takes like 6 months to really get acclimated to a point where you can run every day without moving towards an injury. Just stick with 3 days a week until you're really set with that.
>>77199492lmao
>>77199519>zone 2>running
>>77199492>I don't run>but when I do run, I make it three weeks before I go back to not running>hey, you know what sounds like a good idea, four weeks of running>but I don't know>should I run 10km in 30 days>or 150km in 30 days
>>77199492you people are so fucking retarded you deserve every injury you get
>>77198504>https://hirschmilch.de/channel/prog-housesets from there. or I download jungle sets.
>>77199530The intensity doesn't really matter. Most of the times I've been injured over the years aren't from the hard stuff it is from volume increases or frequency increases. With how abrupt and quick performance falloff follows an injury it's just better to play it safer the more injury prone you are.
i love running bros i wish i could share my love for running with a cute gf
>>77199515fink to some degreelike your foot takes a battering. there will be some pain sometimes esp. if you run a lot or do a run that is longer than normal. like blusters and shidd i fink is common
claudia hollingswirth is a fucking beast
>>77198504Fucking nothing. I like it more that way.Good books tho. I think I ran out of steam around like, book 14 or something. It definitely changes some around, I think, book 5? Enjoy yourself anyway.>>77199492>I don't run>zone 2enjoy ur walks
>>77199481I also randomly got recommend this by youtubeare there any good running channels? all I see is pure grifters or muppets doing shoe reviews that I give zero fucks about. I just want to follow someone doing good training with no gimmicks
You can run fast on less than 50km per weekYou can improve your running without runningYou can prevent injuries by doing strength workjust a reminder
Kinda felt like shit after like 8km, still a bit ill I guess.Wanted to push more but I couldn't. There were stupidly strong gusts of winds all the times I was running uphill, half of it on loose stone paths too, and some very steep, fucking painful.
>>77199492do it, ignore the whining cunts
Am I a fraud???>Roon the first 21-21.5km without a break >come across a perfectly placed bench I always see at the 21 km point >take a 5 minute break >finish the 25 km jog
bad legs yesterday for my run. good legs today in the gym. wish it was the other way round but c'est la vie. hopefully the good legs remain tomorrow for my long run
>>77199997There’s nothing wrong with taking a break.
>>77200272FRAUD ALERT! FRAUD ALERT!!!!!!!
>>77199997nuffink wrong wiv a break if your run is 3 hrs sir
>>77199997Yeah this >>77200321Especially if it's really 5 minutes, that's the perfect length before going out again.
First time running a half marathon distance, 22km to be precise. Before that the longest run was 19km and regular 10 mile runs.Legs are a bit tired, cannot imagine running a full marathon desu. That shit must be really damaging.1:47h at 163bpm
Saw 2 buns, two geese, some ducks, and a heronThere was a huge running group going in the opposite direction. A few of the women looked cute.
>>77200490A lot of people less fit than you have done a marathon. I did one where my longest run in training was a half. This was stupid. DO NOT do this. But it can be done.
>>77200490Training is long and you will build up your conditioning. most plans max around 18-22 so you probably won’t end up like. >>77200531 But yeah, marathons are tough. There’s definitely more of a mental side to it as well. I’ve read somewhere that with this new “running boom” places are starting to see half’s fill up like the major marathons. A lot of people have done their marathons and don’t want to do spend several months doing a train block and a week recovery. Training is shorter and they are cheaper, so you can do a few per year.
I was doing my late night run and I saw some cute girl running a distance away from me. I'm autistic, so help me out. Should I say hi or will I get pepper sprayed a d reported for attempted rape?
>go out for run>I think I'll just do my normal 4 miles>actually I want to do a 10k>....>hm....8 seems like a good number>plan to turn around at 4 miles>ACTUALLY>If I just run one more mile that's a 5 miles turn around which means a 10 miles run>fuck it lets do it>mile 8 hits>oh god fuck why did I do this I wish I was at home>actually if I had just gotten home I would be thinking "what, you couldn't do 2 more miles?">PRd 15k and 10 mile runI think my progress is good since I only started running in November and I'm confident I could probably do a half-marathon since there will be water and snacks. I may start carrying gels with me because I was fucking gassed at like mile 7 and I don't ever plan to do longer stuff, both with cycling and running I go out, feel good and once I get a number ion my head I do it. I also should probably start tracking my calories again because I hate eating and everything involved in the process so I know I'm never getting enough but that's a future me problem.
>>77200781you DEFINITELY should not approach a strange woman running at night to “just chat”unless you want people to think you’re a psycho murderer
