You look and sound like a fag
>>
>>77213196
whats wrong with it, then?
>>
>walk 10,000 steps/d to increase my deficit
>barely making my way through each day with bloody finger nails on 1350 kcal
>stop walking
>effortlessly restrict to 800 kcal

Walking 8000+ steps a day literally fixed my ED.

I had severe ED from wageslaving in corporation for 10+ hours sitting on my ass. I thought my erections are gone forever, not even Cialis and Viagra worked as intended. Adding daily walking for 8-10k steps literally fixed majority of the issues in less than a week.
>>
>>77213196
the gay part about this is that someone is using a smartwatch or smartphone to track it. no one ever talked about steps until smartwatches. i have no idea how much i walk but it's a lot.
op is a faggot too though.
>>
>>77213436
Actually the 10k steps are just marketing from someone in japan, who made a step counter in the 60s
>Some people believed it
>write it to your shitty blog in the internet
>some retard health influencers see this make tiktoks
>everyone believes it now
>>
>>77213436
1 yard is a good as a step at the scale most people walk, people always spoke about upping their count. All philosophers know walking multiple times a day is a magical mental clarity ascetic enhancement fitness thing - Aristotle's lyceum became known as a Peripatetic school means place of walking lectures.
>>77213439
yeah, in the 90s i can remember step counters you placed in your pocket before watches did that.
>>
>>77213420
I believe this. Walking, like sunlight, seems like something that's essential and will really sort you out.
It's not really 'exercise' and doesn't get you 'in shape' but it is just generally 'good for you.'
>>
>>77213301
The actual number of steps doesn't matter, it's whether it works out your heart. A two mile run and gets 10k steps is orders of magnitude better than shuffling around and frequently sitting but getting 50k steps. The office drones "getting their steps" aren't working out.
>>
>>77213534
you obviously don't understand the general idea
>>
I noticed older chinese/asian people do laps around their neighborhoods every day. Movement is health
>>
>>77213534
You're going to die sooner than those office drones.
>>
>He doesn't get 30k steps daily minimum
ngmi
>>
>>77213420
Yeah, it's 99% bloodflow and psychology.
>>
>>77213534
Partially agree. I think something like TRIMP scale is a better thing in general to quantify the amount of work your heart is doing and how to add onto that for improvements. But that requires something like a smart watch or hr monitor to really use since it's tracking everything even your vigorous masturbation is added into the larger picture if it gets your hr significantly above baseline.

I think 10k steps is about 5 miles and probably 400-500 kcal in expenditures which is good for weight maintence. But if you were to walk the same 5 miles after a few sets of burpees your hr would stay elevated for longer and it would have a higher cardio load. Or like run for a minute every time your hr drops below some number (let's say 130 bpm) this would produce an even larger cardio load without a whole lot more effort.
>>
>>77213583
It's also cause they got nothing to do, they're bored outta their minds.
>>
>>77213606
China was a more physical culture before.
>walk to school 2 or 3 miles
>walk home
When you're older
>walk to work
>walk to lunch if you're fortunate enough to have that kind if job
>walk home
Now those people are old it's important they have still have that aspect of their routine. There's a lot of very active and healthy 70+ year olds because of that and advances in medicine.

is that supposed to be impressive? wtf is going on in america?

>10k steps!
>Gotta get those steps in!!
do people really struggle with this?
10k steps is barely 1h of walking

i get like 5k walking from work to my lunch place and back alone

>>77213439
~7k steps would be the medically sound (and most widely accepted) ideal number
after that it's diminishing returns
depending on how you interpret some of these studies, it could be 8-12k as well though, but evidence gets more thin

what is clear though
below 2k/day you're fucked
and below 4-5k/day is still a relevant increase in many illnesses
>>

I stand/walk 6 hours a day at work. Probably walk 4-5km a day for the past 7 years. Got used to it but its nowhere near enough in terms of movement to replace regular cardio/lifting weights. Its basically nothing and I feel like doing nothing would probably be better since its less wear and tear.
>>
>>77213752
>>77213694
Stop being a faggots. Walking is very healthy and everyone should strive to walk 10k per day
>>
>>77213767
but I havent noticed any health benefits in the past 7 years what am I supposed to say here. I noticed a noticeable difference whenever I picked up weights or when I started jogging but not "walking"
>>
Walking is so great. Find the time for it, fixes so much shit.

Try walking around 2k steps for a month and watch your health detiorate. It's always a good idea to be outside the house getting some sun/fresh air in nature.

>do people really struggle with this?
>10k steps is barely 1h of walking

10k steps is almost 2 hours(~1h40min to be exact) walking at 100 steps per minute

idk how are you getting 10k steps in 1h, unless you're running
>>77213588
>30k steps
>at least 5 hours walking each day
nobody does this shit
>>
>>77213774
>New place we're moving has 30 min uphill walk to train station
>GF complains about this
>Asks me to go to gym to do stairmaster with her
???

Missing from this is health insurers incentivising/requiring a minimum number of steps/day.
I have acquaintances wandering around with trackers trying to hit their daily target, which amuses me as they are generally those that have remained active as they age.
>>
>>77213196
If you struggle to hit 10,000 steps a day then you’re not gonna make it
>>
>>77213585
Sitting amd standing in an office all day is good for you?
>>
Walking is good (no fucking shit why did we get to the point where this is something that needs to be saif out loud) but obsessing over arbitrary metrics is absolutely faggy and a sign of mental illness
Same for people who count calories
>>
>>77213780
>A two mile run and gets 10k steps is orders of magnitude better than shuffling around and frequently sitting but getting 50k steps. The office drones "getting their steps" aren't working out.
a few hours of walking accumulated throughout the day is way healthier and less fatiguing than going just for a brief run
brief run is better for vo2max which is an entirely different thing
>>
>>77213196
This but 20k
>>
>>77213196
I don't count my steps, theres a lake near my house that's 7.5km all the way around, I walked around it daily. I check on all the wildlife there too and make sure they're ok

kill yourself faggot

There was a dark point in my life where I became obsessed with my step app and had to hit 25k steps a day or I’d have a mental breakdown.
>>
When I became a neet my average steps were under 300 per day. When I did eventually have to go outside my legs atrophied so much even using the stairs was difficult

Steps is a stupid and gay way to measure it, since everyone has a different stride. Just try to walk 3 or more miles a day.

Did walking teach anyone else that you were a fucking idiot that was wearing shoes many sizes too big for you your whole life? Turns out I'm a 9 not an 11.5.
