Redpill me on Mike Mentzer

It doesnt matter because you'll never put in the work. If you really wanted it, you'd already be lifting and not worried about some arbitrary timeline.
If someone does tell you a timeframe you find acceptable, you'll go the gym then quit in a few months when you see no progress and then go back to making "how to achieve" threads with a pic of Gooky the anime character waiting for someone to "redpill" you on how to get jacked without doing anything. loser

Retarded bullshit grifter for lazy faggots who don’t want to lift and aren’t going to make it

Guys whole shtick was copied from Arthur Jones. Who basically used him as spokesman for Nautilus machine.

They were really onto something but their reasoning behind it was entirely bogus and their motivations were largely monetary. Not that I have a problem with that almost all great inventions and advancements come from something being profitable.

smaller and weaker than Dr. Mike

he looks cool like an action figure but just look at the amount of lean mass he has on him that can't be healthy

>>77215034
Grifting faggot that built his muscle on higher volume and then sold HIT to lazy boomers and normies. So they don't have to actually spend more than 15 minutes in the gym.

Notice how majority of HIT advocates online are obese boomers or skinnyfat faggots with 14 inch guns.

His understudy and lifetime natty, John heart, perfected the idea routine by shaping in a few supersets.
Ideal routine is stupid easy but the chest/back/deadlift day has me seeing gods by the time I almost fail out on deadlifts.

I vastly prefer Trudel's take on HIT over this. Same group supersets are just pause sets that hog more equipment. Get really finicky when the second exercise is a compound. All I have to do to switch my current routine to a Doggcrapp one is set some rep quotas and up the weight if the first leg of the set goes over. Can easily switch it back to a more voluminous one at the end of the the mesocycle because it's same loading I use for normal sets. No guessing at rir or any of that.
>>
>>77216096
It's same-group in name only.
Curls SS lat pulldowns for instance, pull in the lats/teres/traps so even though on 96 hours rest, you're still hitting your main upper body muscles on the week you're technically only working arms, then vice versa on that chest/back day.

Onto the minimalist approach to hypertrophy and that the idea of muscles needing to be damaged to grow was wrong. But they still worked "damage" and "repair" into their explanation as to why so few sets. It's just not relevant. Filled in a lot of what they didn't know with these kind of vague allusions to give the impression they did know.

They were the closest to right at the time and probably are still more right than the majority of the "science based lifting community™".

Jones also did research into strength curves just on his own with dudes he knew and developed the shaped cam system to try to match the strength curve of muscles on his machines. The idea being that it's better for development if the whole exercise can be loaded according to the strength curve of the movment so there's no sticking point. He was half right about that it's certainly the most comfortable way to lift but it doesn't do as much to speed up or even out development as he thought. It is a lot safer though.

Bit of a meme really. In 1980 he was absolutely dwarfed by Arnold even though Arnold was long past his prime by then.

Ironically his training advice always gets touted as the ONLY way naturals should be training, even though mentzer himself was juiced to the gills his entire lifting career

Pretty overrated physique too desu, don't get me wrong he looks amazing and I think anyone would be happy to have that body barring mentally ill autists, but he always looked kind of unimpressive whenever you saw him standing alongside other bodybuilders. He had great potential sure, but rage quit way too early. Had he continued he could have MOGGED

Also he said some absolutely stupid shit like >>77215035 said, not to do cardio. The general principle of HIT is solid though, which is pretty much to go hard and not train like a bitch
>>
>>77215140
You meme and joke but Israetel genuinely is bigger and stronger than mentzer. Numbers don't lie, Israetel is a higher bodyweight even though he's several inches shorter than Mentzer - therefore he literally is bigger, there's no arguing that. Scales don't lie. Compare their confirmed best lifts too and Israetel comes out on top, therefore he is literally stronger. I'm not saying he looks better or he has a better physique mind you, but he actually is heavier (therefore bigger) and his confirmed best lifts are heavier (therefore stronger)

4 day split?
worthless for naturals.
>>
>take steroids
>lift in any way shape or form
>grow
>attribute growth to mild differences in split and not mostly the grams of gear youre taking
>everyone now has to pretend there's some underlying important philosophy to growth just because one guy looked good before he died
repeat ad nauseam for forever.
>bonus points for blast meth as pre workout for earlier death

roid users can blast volume and grow. its not because volume is somehow optimal. it is because they are on roids. if you are wondering 'why is nick walker so large' the answer is not 'he grew from slow tempo high volume lifting' it's 'he grew because hes on a boatload of gear'

if you want to train optimally or experience actual gains from a split, and you dont want to take grams of gear, the question has been answered for a long time.

One workout every 4 days dumbo, so roughly 7.5 workouts a month.
