Most of the commonly consumed vegetables in western diets are practically useless and the single greatest benefit comes from the dietary fiber, and the greatest benefit from that is just G.I. regulation. You could completely remove vegetables from diet and replace them with a daily multivitamin and fiber supplements, and you would get more from that than you would a fucking vegetarian diet.
