Smolov jr is fucking BRUTAL Damn this shit is supposed to be one of the simpler soviet programs ? Seriously making me consider gear asap LMAO
>running mistranslated misunderstood russian programs meant for genetic freaks on roids good luck
>>77221658I am a freak dont know about genetics or roids but at least i am a freak so im the target demographic
>>77221569I've noticed that quite a few programs are meant for roiders. There were some where I follow them and my body gets absolutely mangled during the volume phases. Like doms would just not recover between squats and deadlifts later in the week. Made no progress outside of what cones naturally during a bulk except what I would've done chilling with 3-5 reps under the same surplus.
>>77221569I hope you're not doing this with a sub 2 plate bench and sub 3 plate squar
>>77222384120kg bench, havent squatted in months and it would be psychotic to attempt anything squat related considering my food intake isnt the best cureently
>>77222265He means freak as in "one in a million mass athletes", not freak as in "jerks off 5x a day to hentai"
>>77222397gz you're retarded
>>77221569>>77221658idk, it's not that bad imo. the thing that sucks about smolov jr is that it's unsustainable so you can't repeat the program indefinitely. the first cycle would always give me a guaranteed 15lbs PR then the second would stall, every time, deload or not. the downside of high volume training is that you can't repeat only go up, never down or else you'll lose the strength that you just gained.
>>77222397Autist
>>77221569>do smolov jr for the first time>unironically add 20kg to bench 1rm, all bros are giga mirin>decide to go for another month but with smaller jumps since it went so well and I don't understand the concept of peaking>can't progress, feels like I'm gonna snap my shit (pecs especially) and drop it at the end of week 2>over the course of the next month lose most of my gains and return to original 1rm + 2.5kgthanks, smolov
>>77222465Im just gonna switch to something more forgiving like 5/3/1 or Sheiko by the end, i guess this is the right moveSS and smolov jr are the same in the regard that you should do it once for a short period of time and never look back
>>77222394you're better off running TSA or Greg Nuckols 3 day bench for a year if you're trying to hit 3 plates
>>77222556>1 yearGenuinely too slow for meThe 20kg increase from my initial 2pl8 was in 3 and half months of just fucking around like a retard, with a proper program i expect the same amount of time for another 20kg
>>77221569Smolov Jr is outdated and there are better programs out now but it's a fun challenge if you only run it for one lift. It got my bench up significantly, but I wasn't doing ANY other main lifts when I ran it.
>>77223388That's what i also got. It's a one time thing and im never looking back unless i hop on gear in a distant future and run it a second and actual last time
>>77221569Why the hell are you doing a made up program named after a made up person
>>77221569I'd rather just do 3x/wk +-1 amd figure out what works for me with deloads. I'm not a retard I know how my body reacts to different lifting regiments.
>>77223398Dimitri smolov was a very smart man who lifted very heavy. He was well smarter than me or even you.
>>77223401Listening to my body is plateauing now which is why i started digging into programs
>>77221569Have you actually even tried it for yourself? Try it and report back but you are a nolifter dike dude or something. Stop trying to converse on shit that is irrelevant to your gay nigger life.
>>77223434Im on week 2 you gay faggot
>>77223403If that was true they would have named him bigov
>>77222281Some are just meant for beginners. A 5x5 with 75% of 1RM on the squat is a nice workout if your 1RM is below 3pl8 you recover quickly. At 5pl8+ or / and higher bodyweights it really beats you up for several days.
>>77222465My experience training like this as well (both high volume and intensity). Rapid progress, PRs guaranteed but by the end you'll have new lingering pains to take care of.
