Are planks really that good? I feel like sit ups are better
>>

They have different goals. Planks and other isometric holds train the core to resist movement. Situps and other ab exercises train to strenghten the flexion of the abdominal muscles. Training both is ideal. Training situps (idealy somethung harder than just situps) will grow the ab muscles.
Training isometric holds will increase the body's abiluty to exert force through your extremeties

Does this assist with boxing at all? I'm trying to stay in boxing shape without boxing gear
>>
>>77222359
Yes but you shoud train for core rotation also.
>>

I see this more of a benefit to your endurance than strength. Of course strength can be improved doing planks but you will get stronger faster if you just do weighted situps

I'm looking for three ab workouts. Maybe I could add Russian twists as the final workout?

If there's anything I can do well, it's grit, so I'm not sure if I need that

I think sit-ups rape your back when it’s already trashed while planks strengthens it (?)
>>
>>77222321
planks don't do anything unless you do them to absolute failure

Depends on your goal. Planks are great for training core endurance and isometric core strength and anti rotation.

Planks are S tier for their carryover to your brace for heavy barbell lifts. Try five point / rkc variations.

I'm doing planks, kettlebell side bends and that gay little ab wheel, anything I'm missing?
>>
>>77222321
Military did a study on this once. Sit up test, one group prepped by doing sit-ups, the other prepped with planks, plank group did only slightly better BUT plank group reported no injuries. Sit ups are shit anon they're murder on your lower just spam crunches till it hurts then finish with a plank.
>>
>>77222321
both are a waste of time unless you're an absolute dyel or loading them with weights
>>
>>77223224
Maybe I'll research crunches

my stomach fat looks disgusting in a plank position. I look under the shirt and it's just there, one big sludge of fatness
>>

>>77224313
I can do all of these, and I can barely hold a plank for for 2 minutes. Planks are good, I ignored them for too long.

I don't do planks for abs though, I mostly do it to fix lordosis.
>>
>>77224758
>lordosis
Dude I fucking love fire emblem so much. Is that a new class? I haven't played engage
>>
>>77222321

>>
