I realistically can do 17 but how do you break past 20? Right now, I just do like 6 sets of pull ups during my rest days. Just trying to spam them as much as possible.

doing pull ups a day after your workout is probably not a good idea
it's overtraining

So you have 0 rest days. Pull-ups should be programmed like any other exercise, with enough time to recover between sessions. I pushed myself too hard getting to 21 pull-ups and then got insane golfer's elbow that still hasn't fully healed nearly one year later. Not worth it. Just program them normally.

Same as you max out any other movement, find the weak muscle, isolate it. With pullups the weak muscle is prolly bis or lats.

if your lats are too weak/exhausted you cant do pull ups
makes perfect sense

How is it a weak muscle if pull ups mainly train them?
