Time and time again, anyone who tells you their max bench is 315+, or their squat 350+ almost 99% of the time, are either bounced like a trampoline off their chest, or literal 1/4th reps.Is the deadlift the only lift in the big 3 where if someone says they lift the weight (assuming that isn't a lie) that the lift was actually completed to an acceptable standard?
I've been seeing local guys and from my general area/country, like 16-18 kids posting about their crazy benchNow the thing is we dont have a crazy gym culture here, bigger than the global average but still behind the anglosphere or soviet area of influence. One of them had the crosshit 10kgs that look similar to a proper pl8 stacked, 4 on each side, aka 80kg. He claimed it was like 160? I dont know. No one recognizes it in the comment, 80 likes anywaysSame thing but this time with legit plates. 200kg ? Or 180 i dont remember cba to pull out his acc again , goes for a quarter rep like barely parallel elbows than reracks it. The reason i even found him is because he was arguing with someone rabidly on comments. Same as the guy before, average 50 likes.I mean i already have major trust issues but this is eye opening. Online i can get combative for fun to ragebait people but irl most of the time it's like>Oh that's really strong man i wish i were like you can you demonstrate it nowAnd then let them cope
>>77226533No because sumo exists and is cheap shit that shouldn't count
>>77226533it's bench. bench is unquestionably the most frauded lift of all time, because "what do you bench" is the most commonly asked gymbro question. it's not a matter of bouncing or half-repping, it's simply that people have not lifted the weight they say they have lifted.
>>77226533>>77226597sup DYELsheres my 315 pause bench from a long time ago. moves like an empty bar now.natty btw>>77226548this. sumo is not a deadlift. End of discussion.
>>77226533Bench is very easy to fraud and it's also the one where dudes have the most motivation to lie about. I simply don't care what you say you've lifted unless you have a video to show me."I benched 315" Can be 1. An outright lie2. A big bounce or half rep3. Spotter grabbing half the weight4. Doesn't know what 315 actually is5. Home gym with wrong platesThe list goes on and onAt least when I did track & field the numbers were hit with a stop watch and impossible to fraud unless you were a blatant liar, lifting is not like that, but anyway too many weirdos out there to even give a shit
>>77226597>>77226938Yeah. And what I would do, if asked, is probably tell my bench from when I was stronger, rather than what it is this very moment. Another way of frauding not yet mentioned.
>>77226597this is obviously correct >>77226687that's cool. you don't have to be a fag about it tho>>77226533when does squat actually get impressive? I just hit 315 recently after unfucking my hips and back. I feel like 350 or so is not at all out of reach. when do I start feeling like my squat is actually good, and not just "not weak"? 3.5 plates? 4?
>>77228748Happened to me when I was squatting 385-425
> NOOOOOO YOU BOUNCED THAT 315 BENCH OFF YOUR CHEST IT DOESN'T COUNTpathetic dude
>>77226533>bounced off chestPeople on here still believe you can "bounce" weights off your chest. And that you need to follow sport specific powerliifting rules while training.
>>77228796They mistake it for leg drive, but yea if you actually somehow bounce it off your chest at some point your sternum and cartilages will get fucked upNot that most people here lift that kind of weightBoth paused reps and explosive ones have their usecases and context
>>77226533Damn rippletits got fat isn’t he lifting?
>>77228888CHECKED HE'S DESTROYED
>>77226533It’s Bench. >but I don’t gotta tell you that!
>>77226687>curvee back >thos dyel arms
>>77226533are you retarded. every powershitter cheats on the deadlift. they also cheat on squats and bench>powershitter uses belt, straps, knees, wide sumo stance for deadsdoesnt count you are an absolute pussy amd a wanker and a gurl>powershitter goes on and on about full atg squat in practice, when it comes time to do the squat they barely do a half squat and call it a 1 max rep
>>77229077It's the butt lift that makes it not count - shouldn't be bridging like that
All of them.
>>77226687You’re fat bro.But i agree with you, 315 is nothing special. I’m 200lbs 6’2 and can bench 330 for 2 reps
>>77226533>Is the deadlift the only lift in the big 3 where if someone says they lift the weight (assuming that isn't a lie) that the lift was actually completed to an acceptable standard?Kinda interesting how deadlift is the one exercise that everykne on /fit/ is morally opposed to, isn't it?
>>77229207t. doesn't even 1/2/3/4
>>77229335lol! pussyboy :P my thick fat glutes were touching the bench xD also, i have NEVER trained arms :3>>77229359yup. im fat as helllll. gettin fatter by the day too. got a problem w that SKINNY B O Y?? do something about it. also post ur 3pl8 bench or 2pl8 ohp. PU S S Y>goal body btw
>>77226533Pull ups. People fraud push ups too but you could argue that you still get gains with minimal range of motion but everybody who says they can do 20 pull ups or whatever kips like a faggot and is all momentum
>>77226533Bench is easily the most frauded. As you said, you always see some idiot bouncing it off their chest, doing a six gorillion degree arch which means they're literally moving the bar 2 inches, or they're straight up lifting it with assistance from the spotter. Just as you said, whenever someone says their bench is >3pl8 I immediately know the lift isn't legit unless they're some 300lbs bloatmaxxed powerlifter. I did notice too that a lot of people will do 3 plates on the chest press but then say they bench 3pl8, which is just stupid and doesn't workHalf the time with squats they're not even hitting parallel. With deadlifts the weight usually goes all way up at least yeah, although the form is often questionable. Of course there's always gonna be people doing sumo or using trap bar claiming they deadlift 4pl8 or more though
>>77229610This. I used to be able to do a legit set of 20 pull ups with full ROM but I weighed under 60kg at the time. And it's the same with anyone else doing that many really, i don't consider it very impressive when some twink who weighs nothing can do a lot of pull ups and I'm more impressed by the big guy who can do 10
