My verdict is that it works great for weightloss and hunger management, but is hard to stick with (mainly because of meal planning and real life being full of carbs) and is pretty bad for lifting, and detrimental for bulking.

Real fatties should do keto to slim down fast, get lean, and THEN start lifting and calorie counting. However if they can't stick with it it doesn't work. It's an all or nothing diet. So the first time they break down and have carbs, that's the sign they should do something else. It's only for the highly self-motivated and consistent.

Yes, but ketogenesis is a different metabolic pathway that ONLY activates when you're carb free long enough for blood sugar to start dropping, and if you eat carbs your body resets to preferentially burn carbs.

While in keto, the body burns fat at a steady pace to match energy needs, and hunger is naturally suppressed. It's kinda complicated, read Dr. Fung's books about diabetes and obesity for the full background.

Basically carbs = hungry
keto = not hungry

Most people overeat because their hunger/satiety systems are faulty, and keto gets around that. If one has the willpower to overcome their FEELINGS of hunger, then yes only CICO matters and the laws of thermodynamics will do their job.

I'm not well versed at all but from my understanding GLP-1 agonists (ozempic) do something similar and turn off the feeling of hunger, so people naturally eat less and lose weight. Ultimately it really does come down to just eating less.

I tried an 18hour ish fasting, with carbs. I ate two times within 2hours, being hungry for the second meal.

A month into keto and I go like 8 hours after first meal without feeling any hunger, basically have to force myself to eat.

Just keep on up electrolytes and you should be fine, no brainfog.

Um, no. It is 100% possible to get sufficient protein on a keto diet, and I challenge you to show me the study that supports your claim. Cause I've seen several that show it has zero impact 1rm or recovery. My normal diet on keto is 2 strips of bacon and 2 eggs for breakfast, a can of salmon or tuna for lunch, and steak with brocolli and brussel sprouts for dinner. Snacks between meals are 10 almonds twice a day, a low carb protein bar on lift days and a protein shake. Drinks are black coffee, green tea and a magnesium drink once a day.

Nothing insane. It's around 300-400 calorie deficit and thanks to ketosis you do it without being hungry, even when exercising.
