Chiropractors
>inb4 not a real doctor

Been dealing with a pinched nerve in my shoulder for 6 years that's caused me to miss work on several occasions and am considering visiting a chiropractor before asking about surgery from my real doctor
>>
It's quackery. I absolutely would not trust a chiroquack with an area as complicated and important for your quality of life as your shoulder. Same goes for the neck, back etc. Wouldn't trust them with anything but especially not these areas. Your life can become very, very miserable if you acquire permanent, bad pain in your shoulder.
>>
Be careful about letting these people go ham on your pain areas. They can make things worse without knowing unless you do your part. Let them know immediately that there is pain.
>>
What kibd of religion or a fucied up belif prohibits you fron visiting a physical theraphist? Or, at least, watching some youtube videos on exercised that should help with your condition?
>>
I got this special oil to sell you, it'll solve your problem 100%, dm me
>>

You have nothing to lose, try it. But if you are so sure about surgery (when it comes to nerves is not the most sucessful treatment) a doctor/neurologist should be the right option.
>>
>>77227874
The fact that snakeoil like chiropractics is allowed in this country, and sometimes required prior to visiting a real doctor, is further proof our healthcare is completely and irredeemably fucked.
Meanwhile these freaks will do "manipulations" that put people in wheelchairs for life.

T. Been going to chiro for a month to sort out some hip/knee issues.
Its worked well for me, but I agree there's a ton of quack bullshit out there claiming chiro can fix a bunch of issues that isn't skeletal alignment related.
>>
>>77228619
They're bots or shills. This goes back to Morris Fishbein of the AMA in the 1920s.
>>
>>77227855
They might put you back in place, but they won't fix what caused your issues.
Maybe worth if pain prevents you from doing PT exercises.
>>

What about releasing gas from a joint is going to aid your health? Is there a lot of gas in there?
>>
>>77228839
>he doesn't have joint farts
>>
Chiropractors are strictly inferior to Physical Therapists. There are exactly zero (0) problems a chiropractor can fix that a PT can't fix more effectively.

FPBP. OP niqqa finna upgrade neurological injuries to incomplete C3 quadriplegia, kek.
>>
>>77227855
From speaking with an orthopedic doc once, he said somtimes (re-read before replies, SOMETIMES) chiropractors can be the proper treatment, but the problem is that they have been trained as a hammer and every problem looks like a nail
>>
just do deadhangs
>>
>>77228958
>t. homo in scrubs and tight t shirt
nah i’d rather have a boomer chiro fix me

>>77227855
>pinched nerve in my shoulder
Easily solved by a few weeks of heavy weighted pullups
>>
Chiropractic is fundamentally based on pseudoscience. If you want to fix the root cause of your shoulder issues, you should consider getting in contact with a physical therapist. There is nothing a chiropractor can do to your body that will help you more than a massage would.
>>77228619
The least informed people I know swear by pseudoscience like acupuncture and chiropractic but their joint and health problems never go away because they aren’t actually doing anything good for their body, meanwhile I have perfect health because I understand that when you base a practice on anything other than observations from repeatable experimentation and study you are no better than the dumbest blackest gorilla nigger witchdoctor in the Congo.
>>
>>77227855
Just go to a professional Sport therapist or massage place.
They do everything better than a Cyro.
>>
>>77228992
You and every other dumb faggot who spends years grumbling about their "bad shoulder/knee/back/whatever" that they're constantly going back to their chiro for forever when a PT could have fixed the underlying issue in a month.
>>
>>77227855
See both a chiro and a physio.
You'll have the best of both modalities combined.
>>
>>77227855
>crack crack
>fuck you up
Who is the retarded that Pay for that shit?
>>
>>77227855
Imagine smacking that ass
>>
The very fact that there is an entire Youtube/social media industry based on chiropractors hiring hot women/models/instagram whores/onlyfans thots to be barely dressed and they perform their fake manipulations on them while likely adding in fake cracking sounds in order to get views and social media clout should tell you all you need to know about this despicable industry. You don't see physical therapists doing this. You don't see other medical professionals whoring themselves out for social media, well except for nurses, but nurses are among the worst of the worst of people, they're all cheating narcissistic holes
>>
How do i become a chriropractor? I want to massage hot chicks
>>
>>77227855
largely quackery, the adjustments feel good in the moment but it wears off by the time you get back into your car. an actual PT would probably be able to identify your problem and develop a plan to fix it, but it will also be tens of thousands of dollars vs 5-6 $25 adjustments
>>
>>77229038
PTs can suck ass, too, you know. at least as often as chiropractors by my estimates. most PTs are shit and just hand you a theraband and instructions for four canned exercises to do at home. there are good chiropractors who are essentially good physiotherapists with a specialty in the spine and manipulation, and there are woowoo quackery specialists. by the same token, there are good PTs with a deep understanding of anatomy and the experience and give-a-shitness to accurately diagnose and treat patients, and there are literal retards who went into PT because they 'liked sports' in high school and are there to collect a check.
>>
>>77229109
there pretty much isnt anything stopping you from doing it other than setting up a business, its not real medicine so you can print some fake ass diploma if you want, just dont actually kill anyone or do I guess if you want idk
>>
>>77229115
>pt
>tens of thousands of dollars
>"bro you just need to deadhangs and facepulls"-PT probably

i actually got more out of a chiropractor not because of the pseudoscience shit, but becaue the chiropractor was a PT.
part of chiropractic health is physical manipulation of tissue, not just popping shit, that's some 1980s meme.
unironic neck traction while manipulating my arm behind my back, took about 3 months, but whatever pinch nerve I had in my shoulder into the brachial complex did dislodge itself after years.

if you're shilling PTs just for the sake of it m8, you've got some bad info.
imagine spending even more for some dude to give you advice that is actually counterintuitive to recovery.
>>
i went to a physiotherapist to sort out neck/temporal muscle issues due to TMJ. two sessions total, it worked in terms of giving relief but during the second session, at some point my anus started burning for no reason. what does this mean? did he find some pressure point in my neck that activates the ass?
>>
>>77229125
You are correct. A bad PT will send you home with a few canned exercises that might not be as targeted for your specific problem as they could be, while the best chiro is one who realized too late that chiro sucks so now they just uses their cert as marketing while practicing PT.
>>
>>77227855
It only feels like a mechanical issue but it's a type of (nerve) irritation and the interpretation of the signal is just not very intuitive because of the way certain movements can feel blocking, or cause relief or more pain. There is nothing that is really out of place and can be fixed with a quick crack.
>>
>>77227855
I used to get this. Haven't had it for about 2 years now.

For me:
1. Stop slouching and chicken-winging my mouse arm on the desk (it was always my right shoulder).
2. Spam dumbbell shrugs every lift day
3. Shoulder mobility exercises: dead hangs, door frame stretches, rotator cuff strengthening exercises with horrifically tiny weights.
4. Never, ever do standing rows.

Your results may vary, but I bet $1 you sit in front of a computer both at work and and home like I did.
>>
>>77229955
>1. Stop slouching and chicken-winging my mouse arm on the desk (it was always my right shoulder).
i do this
>2. Spam dumbbell shrugs every lift day
i spam barbell shrugs and upright rows every day
>3. Shoulder mobility exercises: dead hangs, door frame stretches, rotator cuff strengthening exercises with horrifically tiny weights.
i do not do this
>4. Never, ever do standing rows.
i do bent over rows twice a week

are you actually on to something anon? i just made an appointment to be seen in-person by a PT. are they going to laugh at me and spot me as a retarded gamer just by my shoulder injury? are they also going to be able to tell that i masturbate too often?
>>
If they snap your shit up there is literally no fixing it. Even millions of dollars won't fix the damage

There are people who have had strokes from chiropractors twisting something wrong
>>
>>77227855
chiropractor is a giant waste of time snake oil bullshit.
>>
>>77230727
thats not true, sometimes it can give you permanent life destroying injuries
>>
>>77229955
Would like to know more about why standing rows are bad if you have this issue
>>
>>77231076
Because everything in my daily life was causing my shoulders to rotate forward. Nothing was getting them back in a good position. This was embarrassingly obvious when I first tried shoulder mobility exercises like standing with my back to a wall and trying to put my arms up with my elbows and back of my hands touchng the wall. I was miles off.

After 4-6 months of modifying my lifts to exlude the bad and add some new my shoulders were much better overall. Basically I was neglecting the ligament in the rear of the rotator cuff, and they were weak as fuck.
>>
>>77227855
it's literally a religious cult that can turn you into a wheelchair person

I used to go to the chiropractor 4-6 times a year because I'd feel pain in my left hip. I switched to a firm mattress and did some strengthening of my hips. No issues since.
>>
>>77227855
do it you retard. Chiropracty is a mixed bag but at worst it'll only help temporarily. At the least it can give you a nudge in the right direction you need to start making steady progress through stretching, strengthening, and foam rolling.

Massage, chiro, and PT's are infinitely preferable to surgery which is a coin toss on making your life even worse

So I hurt my back at work once, initially I was just disabled for two-three days but then I recovered somewhat.
But I had frequent sharp pain that would come and visit me several times per day, my lower back was stiff as a board and I couldn't carry any significant load because I felt no core strength.

I let that go on for about a year before seeking help, got sent to a chiropract/physical therapist, she diagnosed my body, did few adjustments (=cracking), gave me a massage and booked me in for three more sessions that month.
Session two was the same as session one, but she did more adjustments around the body this time.
Session three I was not getting those sharp pains as often, but I was still stiff in the back, so I was given acupuncture in the area. My muscles finally loosened up after that.
Session four was adjustments + massage, plus an examination, and she gave me a custom training program for rehabilitation.

I have not experienced that sharp pain since then, luckily.
Chiropractors may or may not be the right treatment for your condition, just go to a doctor first and see what they recommend.
Just dont skip out on the rehabilitation training, most people who complain about chiropractors are the ones who get their back cracked once and do 0 exercises to help the body recover afterwards.
