What's the verdict?
What question are you asking?
>>77228691What's the verdict?
>>77228694What’s the question tho?
>>77228694Whats the accusation?
>>77228688Kettlebell Swings are a trash tier exercise that actively seek to give you a L1 herniation. Turkish Getups with kettlebells are fine. Everything else I prefer DB.
Overall I prefer them to regular dumbbells, I feel the muscles I'm trying to target, get worked more. I prefer the way they feel overall. That's it, I use them in replacement of regular dumbbells.
>>77228688unfit to stand trial
>>77228688>What's the verdict?yes, those are kettlebells in the photo.
>>77228688weight is weight
I miss mak
>>77228688Never saw anyone else do it, but they’re perfect for weighted pullups and chins.Much easier than plates to attach/detach and they don’t hit your legs and leave bruises when kipping
>>77228688KINO RINO!!
>>77228688Good for Kazak squats
This is really cool to do and gives you insane strength
>>77228688I recently started a snatch program and love it, Probably my favorite exercise.
>>77228897This is the only correct answer.Theyre better suited for some exercises due to their shape, and unfit for other because of the same reason, but its just weight after all.If youre wondering if theyre some magic piece of equipment, theyre not.
>>77228688Guilty of lurid acts with the same sex
>>77228765 Wtf. I have L5/S1 grade2 spondy, fucked facets, and had a blown disc, and swings is how I keeps my back relatively pain-free and in check
>>77228688Those dumbells are shaped weird
>>77229639Nice. I was thinking about doing the same thing. Try and accomplish the 220 snatches in 10min challenge. Probably take me a while to get there
Hate swings.Love snatches.Love clean and presses.Simple as.
>>77230496You have to snatch alot for that.Im sure you made a typo and meant 200 in 10 mins, not 220, squeezing the extra 20 sounds absolutely insane. Are you training kettlebell sport or hardstyle?
>>77230588You are right. I meant 200. My style is probably closer to sport than hardstyle. I've been a part-timer for about 5-6 years, so this will be my first kettlebell-centric goal/routine.
>>77230593I only started kettlebells a year and half ago, so i doubt i have anything to teach you.I went close to passing the SSST with the 20kg bell, managed 89 reps in 10 mins, grip gave out. What i did was two days on, one day off.100snatches (50L, 50R) everyday, in sets of 10, resting between each hand and each set.Day1 : 100 snatches 100 pushups with a weighted vestDay2: 100 snatches 100 goblet squats (with weighted vest too)Repeat for a month. Before that my best attempt was 60 in 10 minutes so i think there's something to try.Stay away from geoff neupert programs, i only heemed myself when doing those, and the guy having to get a hip surgery at 40 should tell you everything you need to know (hint: it's not genetic since he looks gigachad)
>>77230666That looks like a good routine. Right now, I am just building volume doing sets of 10 (5R/5L) for 20 minutes. Resting as needed. I can see the hands are going to take a beating, so I might do "hand rest days" and do a bunch of clean+squat, clean+press, and squat+press (this is a circuit I have done before, sets of 10, and go for 20 minutes. Pretty nice routine). But I really do like you snatch plan, and how you do your pushups and squats.
>>77230518just need to go heavierime most kettlebells are too light for swings. 32kg is baby weight for a swing but it's the most weight available in most gyms or home collections. i see people doing swings with weights that they could snatch overhead with ease, and think "what's the point?" a snatch is essentially a swing done with light enough weight that you can catch it overhead. if you can snatch it then you should because it's the same movement pattern (explosive hip extension) but intentionally done with less explosive power, which is evident by the fact that they are only swinging it up to their belly area! if they were using all their power then it'd just go overhead!if you use a heavier weight, minimum 40kg on one of those plate loadable kettlebell swing devices, you'll find that at some point you cannot snatch it, that you're thrusting that thing up with all your might but it only gets up to your belly area. at which point you are truly training your explosive hip power too it's fullest potential, not sandbagging yourself with a weight that's only useful for some gay endurance challenge.
>>77228765What is wrong with swings
>>77231058it aint no thang if it aint got swangskibbidibopbopscoobyskiddlydeedee
>>77230750Explode as hard as you can and actively stop and throw the bell back down as hard as you can. See if that doesn't give you some new respect for the 32.
>>77228688If you put it the work, they are great. After all they're weight.
KB rows are best rows.Range of motion is insane on those. I dont feel DB rows at all, while KB rows i can feel it working even with half the weight.
Cancel your gym membership and get a pair (ideally more) of those bad boysNow you can work out whenever you want
What do they offer that DBs don't?t. usually working out with DBs at home
>>77231696Literally how, it's the same weight, just hanging lower
>>77228765you're probably doing the hinge hard style meme swings instead of the normal ones everyone does in russia
there are a couple forearm exercises that work better with kettle bell than db
>>77232092With kettlebells you get to buy a 16kg and a 24kg, then take a photo of them in your van and caption it "I have a gym everywhere I go" then injure yourself from doing 100 swings a day every day because some jag told you to.
>>77233223Oh shit not that guy but maybe I am doing it wrong and I've been doing them every time I go to the gym. Can you link a vid please? Not exactly sure what I'm specifically looking for
>>77232092snatch and clean and press. can be done with dumbbell but its clumsy in comparison.
broskis I want to get started with them, which weight is a good starting one?16kg?
>>7723356716kg for menThen get double 24kg once you can snatch the 16 100times in 5minsProression is 2h swings>1h swings>cleans>snatches
