Is there any point in hitting the gym if you're tired or sick?

>Can't go hard so you won't be pushing yourself to allow progressive overload
>At best you'll be lifting for maintenance
>Could just not work out instead and use the chance to give your body some rest

Depends on how sick
I had a cold for a bit and still got some lifts in. No injuries because I'm not a limpwristed beta pussboy.
If you're nauseous or anything then yeah obviously

I'm pretty tired but I'm still gonna do some light workout because it improves my mood and helps me sleep.

if you go hard while sick you'll obliterate your immune system, I was sick for over a month until I took a break from lifting and then recovered quickly

Your body is just a pussy brah
I want to gym with flu and covid no issues

I have kids and work a lot. I would never train if I set up guard rails like that. Only if I have a fever or if I’m convinced I’ll fall asleep on the highway do I forego my morning training

The best days at the gym are the days you force yourself to go. Even if your lifts suck ass and your hearts not in it, you are instilling the discipline in yourself to go and maintain your routine.

there is a vast difference between
>dont want to go because lazy
and
>dont want to go because sick/injured/overtrained
>>

No, you'll prolong the illness
>>
Recovery is a vital part of good health and fitness. Training when sick is stupid, if you're disciplined and consistent taking a little time off when you need it won't ruin your gains.

Most insane thing I ever read on here. The best workouts I ever had were the ones in which I felt well-rested and actually felt like working out.
