Why does this absolutely mog every other protein in terms of price?

I was doing research to find the cheapest protein, it came down to eggs or chicken legs, but then when accounting for whole rotisserie chickens it beat the fuck out of everything else.

rotisserie chickens are even cheaper than whole raw chickens.

Chickens walked this earth before humans

quark is cheaper

Is it just my area or do grocery stores NEVER sell boneless skinless chicken thighs? Always breasts then every other part with the skin and bones on
Even a whole chicken is barely less expensive than the parts. What happened

The cheapest thing per gram of protein is probably TVP but it's also freaky ultraprocessed industrial sludge made from söy byproducts.
>>
>>77232452

I did the math and when you remove all that is not meaty protein it's better to get filleted, skinless chicken breasts.
It is where I am anyway.

For a whole chicken you lose about 1/2 the raw weight - fat, skin, bone, tendons, connective tissue at the point it's ready to eat.

Maybe in US, but in EU

>>
>>77232512
It's not the cheapest. It's about the same price as beef.
>>
>>77232553
The amount of protein in beans is overstated, you mostly get carbs from beans, so it actually isn't the cheapest protein. You also need fats, which the chicken provides.

Combine the chicken with the beans.
>>
>>77232585
TVP can be like $1 per 100g of protein.
>>
>>77232595
Yeah, it's like $7 per pound in my store. It's actually more expensive than beef.
>>
>>77232612
That's a stupid price for TVP but keep in mind that TVP has 50g of protein per 100g while beef only has like 25-30.
>>
>>77232632
yeah vegans pay stupid prices for their stupid choices.

if TVP is cheap in your area, it's subsidized by tax money.
>>
>>77232725
>in your area
Global economy is a thing, anyone can buy cheap as fuck TVP in bulk (and it never goes bad because it's nasty-ass ultraprocessed crap).
>>
>>77232734
so I have to import it from your shithole to get it, that's why it's so expensive.

enjoy your goy slop, I'll be eating moar chicken.
>>
>>77232775
Thanks for conceding that it's a cheaper source of protein than beef. I commend your ability to admit when you've been wrong.
>>
>>77232782
yeah but OP was about chicken and chicken is cheaper than your goyslop.
>>
>>77232791
Not in terms of protein content. A pound of TVP has twice as much protein as a pound of chicken.
Btw it's not "my" goyslop, I don't buy the cheapest protein because I'm not a poorfag.
>>
>>77232452
Find a wholesale butcher near you. I can get chicken wings and legs for 2-3 AUD per kilo. I think that's like 0.75 USD per pound.
>>
>>77232452
You can buy them even cheaper cold than hot. I shred them up and use them in my meals.

no idea what jungle jibber jabber that is, but a 500g pack of quark contains 60g of protein and costs 1 Euro

I'm working on an app that optimizes grocery shopping. Right now the most cost effective things to buy are chicken legs, beans and flour.
you can get all the nutrition you need from chicken legs and beans.
>>
>>77232516
Can you post the math please anon? I’d consider doing this, ripping it up and blending it so not as nice looking bits still get used so if 1/2 is conservative to be only nice bits maybe it would be a lot cheaper than just bulk buying and freezing breast.
>>
costco specifically sells rotisserie chicken as loss leaders to get normies in the door. buy some hot chicken for dinner tonight, buy all the rest of your groceries at the same time. just take advantage

>>
>>77233479
I didn't record it - but it was 1.3kg (€4.50-ish) chicken cooked in an air fryer.
The net meat was about 600g.
And that was a mix of white/brown meat which still had a fair bit of fat in the legs.

With the breast fillets you lose a small bit of fat, but it's mostly water that is lost.

I got a whole chicken for 7 euros in Greece today. (it's 7,99 euro per kg which is the same as chicken breast)

I took the skin out and i got 340g of breast from the whole chicken, and 140g dark meat. I made total of 4 chicken wraps from it. I think chicken breast are better but there's also the electricity cost of cooking them in the oven. If i was bulking i was gonna continue buying rotisserie but from tommorow i'm going back to chicken breast. It's the same price but you get more volume out of it
>>

A gallon of milk here is ~$3, that's about 2.35 cents per gram of protein. Whereas chicken is 1.75 cents per gram of protein.

I'm building an app and I have a database to prove it. Maybe milk is cheaper in the third world shithole you live in.

Chicken breast is cheaper here (because the market perfers the legs) but yes.
Chicken farming has been optimized and improved massively thanks to their short production cycles. The chicken breast you see today in your market was genetically improved 5 years ago. Basically 3 companies control the entire bloodlines of 99% of the chickens farmed today.

I've lived a few years in the US, the amount of "attacks" people suffer daily is absurd, it's like everyone is looking for any opportunity to get a cheap ego boast by confronting you.
>If you don't eat meat, some random people there will confront you for it.
>If you mostly eat meat, some random people there will confront you for it.
>If you healthy and avoid slop, some random people there will confront you for it.
>If you enjoy eating stuff like liver and heart, some random people there will confront you for it.
The same goes for pretty much everything, I get why people become so defensive.

I'm glad we agree that it's a beverage that's mostly sugar. No idea why you even responded as if what you posted was some kind of contrary claim. The fact that you even admitted that you're adding artificial sweetener to six teaspoons of sugar's worth of milk is insane.
>>
>>77235749
Nevermind the fact that it's high protein with a S tier vitamins and minerals stack
I add packet of artificial sweetener to make it taste different when I get bored of it, not to sweeten it. Keepin it fresh
>>
It's not high protein. It's actually low in protein and high in sugar, regardless of whether it's skim, 1%, 2% 5% or full fat - in which case it's even lower in protein and higher in fat.
>I don't add sweetener to sweeten it.
That's totally something that makes absolute sense and doesn't sound insane at all.

Just stop posting.
