Anyone have experience using cinch clips?
>>
>>77232747
It insists upon itself
>>
I've been lifting for like 15 years at this point and I still have to find one good use case for these clips, maybe outside ez bar curls and skullcrusher.

If you fail squats you want to be able to dump. If you fail bench you certainly want to be able to dump. Deadlifts and rows it has zero use because why would you not have balance.

I know they use them at the olympics and at power lifting events but I don't really get it. I would ASSUME it's because they drop the weights from anywhere, and I'd get kick out of my gym if I did that.
>>
>>77232767
What if you have a short bar and the weights are close to the edg?
>>
>>77232777
I mean realisticly how many plates can you not fit on a regular bar, are you DLing like 6 plates on each side? And if you're using fat bumper plates and not regular ones that's on your gym
>>
>>77232767
>If you fail bench you certainly want to be able to dump
If you don’t lift in a shitty cheap gym benches haves safeties.
And after failing you can stand and re-rack the barbell back within 5 seconds without collecting plates all over the floor like an autist and then putting them back on the bar.

Careful boy, for you speak to a homegym user
>>
>>77232795
Have you ever used safeties? They literally have no effect on rom
You put them lower than your chest when it’s rounded and when you fail all you have to do is straighten your back and untuck shoulder blades
What’s your bench?
>>
>>77232801
If you have so many plates on your bar that you need a physical clip to hold them in place I kneel
>>77232810
Never used them, my gym doesn't have them. But I have a hard time imaging them not robbing rom, because if you do a slight arch (not a meme power lifting stance) and go touching your chest, what are those bars going to do? I bench 2 plates not sure why that matters. I've done a roll of shame once, never dumped weight.
>>
>>77232820
> go touching your chest, what are those bars going to do
They’re literally below your arched chest, that’s the point. Even when bouncing the bar never touches them
> I bench 2 plates not sure why that matters
Figures. Yeah it matters
> I've done a roll of shame once
I fail on purpose every week and regularly attempt 1rm without spotter because of how effortless it is to re-rack with safeties and clips
>>
>>77232820
Are you fucking retarded? Even if you bench with a 100% flat back you can set the safety so it's not atleast going to fucking crush you. If your that fucking concerned about ROM you shouldn't even be doing bench then, go do pec flys & chest presses.
>>
>>77232820
go be a brown obese virgin somewhere else

Half-repping Harry over here
>>
>>77232828
>regularly attempt 1rm
Nta but that's fucking stupid for literally ANYONE who isn't either competeing or an egotistical fucktard. Even for fucking oly and power lifters 1rm are not a regular thing. You're fucking begging for a tear.
>>
>>77232836
what do you think regularly is?
>>
>>77232747
most of the cinch clips at the gyms i've been too have be useless or nearly useless. i prefer using these collars or something similar if they're available.
>>
>>77232962
Damn, I just bought some with my new barbell

Keep us informed on how the locking mechanism holds up, anon
Your sacrifice will not be forgotten.

>cinch
That's a funny word
>>
>>77232747
What's the stiffest bar possible my weights have been sliding off. I'm thinking a 55lb bench bar from rogue I'm not using clips any time soon.
>>
>>77232767
I use them for deadlifts because the bar still hits the floor which makes the plates move.

these are still narrow and way less of a pain in the ass than spring collars. i would honestly recommend investing in them, as a guy who used to lift at home spring collars were the bane of my existence and going to a real gym and experiencing these literally made my workouts 30% more enjoyable. next to the bar itself, clamps are the thing you interact with most, it's worth the $10-25 to not have to fight them. FUCK SPRING COLLARS
>>
>>77232836
Been benching like this for 16 years, still waiting for a tear. Zero shoulder or any other pain too btw
>>
>>77233266
Brother, it appears the OP's image is a spring clip that locks into place instead of having friction hold it in place.
>>
>>77233279
if the cinch makes it so that you don't need to squeeze the collar when you're putting it on or taking it off, then fair enough. if it only exists as a lock mechanism and to spare the collars from losing more tension over time, point stands. OP will find out soon enough

you set them lower than your chest and if you fail the rep you roll the bar towards your head to over your neck. Then you just turn your head to the side and shimmy out from under it.
