I've been doing an experiment in the same vein as this. I'm not using candy, though, that seems kind of retarded. I'm eating fruits, rice, and potatoes.
I found that eating protein+fat meals did basically nothing for my satiety, so I tried eating exclusively carbs for a few meals. It's much more satiating, so I can eat noticeably fewer calories without feeling hungry. I'm sure there's some fucked up hormone signaling there from being a fat kid, but whatever.
I'm currently eating all of my protein (125-150g ish) in one large bolus at dinner, and I'm getting around 400 fewer calories with less hunger than an evenly-distributed diet. The big meal at dinner feels more natural, too.
It's been less than a week, so I can't say if it's effective or not, but we'll see. I might switch it to only restricting fat during the day so I don't have to eat all of that protein in one go. You have to really make an effort to get that much at once.
