I am running a beginner routine, it includes deadlifts, but they feel very bad for my back
should I replace them with something else?
>>
replace w/ tummy punches
>>
just do back extensions on a Roman chair
Deadlifting is a meme; no serious athlete even does them since the risk/reward ratio is the lowest of all exercised

RDL is probably a better lift for beginners or just people who have never been coached. Deadlift is more nuanced and complicated lift than it appears. If all else fails back extentions for the spinal erectors, hip thrusts for the glutes, hamstring curls for their namesake. It's less compact but it will work and bring up all those without troubleshooting.

Good Mornings also activate most of the same muscle groups as Deadlifts and RDLs but are way less stressful on your CNS
