First post on /fit ever. M33, been going to the gym on and off for the past 15 years, wrecked my back multiple times between L5/S1, finally had it checked a year ago, wasn't DOMS, and hasn't been the years before that either. Also developed carpal tunnel in my left hand because of prolonged period with a jackhammer. Been a bit frustrated, but slowly becoming healthy again because of Stuart McGills books "Back Mechanic". I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to bodyweight, stretching, yoga and calisthenics. Do you anons have any advice or suggestions on good exercises, routines or experts I should look into? Appreciate all input except shit ones.
>>77236587I'm going to check that book out, good luck with your back health
Look into this channel:https://www.youtube.com/@lowbackability
well if i could only do bodyweight for lower back i would start with www.youtube.com/watch?v=4BOTvaRaDjI&pp=ygUPZm91bmRhdGlvbiBiYWNrand check the other routines they have, try them out, find out the one thats doable for me and build up from there to maybe some bodyweight squats and kettlebell swings
>>77236587Don't listen to any advice here on specific exercises you should do. You need to go to a physical therapist, where you'll likely get directed to do exercises that directly target your back problems in a way that helps rather than makes it worse. Nobody here can tell you those exercises, because it depends on your specific back conditions and what you specifically can safely do.
>>77236592Please do. It is a gamechanger. Can also just search for McGill "Big 4" on YouTube.>>77236593Thanks, I see a lot of good reviews of this channel. >>77236594Thanks bud>>77236599It is sounds advice. I should get a physical therapist. It is free here after all.
>>77236587My go-to for back is just Jefferson curls. You're pretty much on your own beyond that, should look into yoga or some shit though.
