>>77240603As a cop, I can tell you that 80% of my coworkers aren’t doing any training, running or lifting and aren’t worth a damn as far as fitness. Tons of them are on light duty status because they can’t pass a basic incline treadmill test for our annual agency physical screening. Many don’t pack their own meals and just get free drive-through fast food every shift. We have an amazing, 24/7 free gym at our HQ that’s rarely ever used (great for me, I’m the only one ever there on weekends). Too many people are ok with doing the bare minimum and it absolutely sucks having them as your backup on potentially dangerous calls.

I watch a lot of bodycam footage. Cop jobs are pretty cushy with lots of chill paperwork and court dates and then moments of intense violence and life/death and dealing with scum of society on a daily basis. Gym should be the last thing on their mind.
