Underrated>GlutesSpecially for men, I see many neglecting it because they associate well developed glutes with feminity, even though glutes play a major role in order to project force even for a punch. Plus women lowkey love it and they often notice well developed glutes on men (it's basically a strength and fitness indicator)Overrated>chestA muscle that is actually not that much used in natural movements with the same intensity as back, lower body and arms and just in modern times that the obsession of growing massive tits has taken over the masculine community for some unknown reason.Men will talk to each other about who benches the most, even though the chest muscle is not even that relevant in most natural movements, and muscles like shoulders, back, core and lower body are much more relevant for a fight than chest. It's like obsessing over your calf muscles and competing to see who does the heaviest calf raises... maybe that happened in an alternative universe
>>77242256CHEST IS NOT OVERRATED. You need big glutes AND pecs for perfect aesthetics. Just skip arms. No one needs those
Underrated>absunironically. It may be the highest rated by normies but people get into lifting and completely neglect them, thinking you can get by by doing compounds, maybe getting lead and having some definition you can only see when flexing in front of the bathroom mirror. To have proper big, bulging abs you have to build them.Overrated>quadsit's an upper body world. some definition and strenght is nice I guess, no need to go overboard and risk injury for it. retards screech about functional strength but almost every situation in which you need to lift something heavy just basic strength does it. no need to squat 200kg for it. most of the time it's more taxing on your back and arms anyways.

Depending on your goals...Underrated prolly abs. A lot of people say compounds train them fine, but I doubt those people could do excercises that require immense ab strength.Overrated imo is chest or biceps. I personally give biceps the chest treatment. I never really train them except for a few sets of hammer curls.

>>77242256>overratedcalves. hear me out. even people who neglect legs do calf raises, and everyone and their mother complains about how their calves are small and hard-locked. but narrower lower legs elongate your silhouette. big calves are classic "stocky" muscles and make you look short and proportionally goofy like a dwarf. cover this guy's inner calf with your finger, and tell me he doesn't lose 2"+ in height when you pull your finger away. even sprinters have narrow calves.>underratedtraps. mainly because there has been a trend online for the past couple years where men are discouraged from training their traps because it supposedly makes you look narrower. this is a total non-issue unless traps become the overwhelming standout muscle group of your physique or you have extremely unfortunate insertions. bigger traps = bigger neck, and they're very androgenic, including literally: roiders traps blow up because of the density of androgen receptors there.
>>77242467Go do your squats
>>77243687you're wrong my man, no offense.Calves are the most "genetic" muscles, it's very hard to make them grow if they are small to begin with, and you won't make them smaller if you've been blessed with big ones.Upper traps do make you look narrower if you have very short clavicles. Most importantly, upper traps are NOT your neck, see scooby picrel I've posted above. He has decent traps but doesn't train his neck so he looks goofy as fuck
>>77243753To be fair, threads like these are stupid.Any over/under developed muscle group will make your overall physique look off, no matter what.Depending on your individual make up, you'll need to give some muscles extra attention and less to others. That's it

>>77243753>Calves are the most "genetic" muscles, it's very hard to make them grow if they are small to begin with, and you won't make them smaller if you've been blessed with big ones.this either has nothing to do with my argument or reinforces it when you consider that the peoples we associate with having big calves are themselves notoriously short and tall peoples tend to have stick legs. but really, just the former>Upper traps do make you look narrower if you have very short claviclesi almost included this but felt the high insertions were more important to note because for the vast majority of men, their clavicles are simply not narrow enough for this to matter. it's the combination of high insertions and narrow/downward-pointing clavs that makes the slope effect>upper traps are NOT your neck, see scooby picrel I've posted abovi couldn't tell you what's going on with scooby's neck 2bh, might be an old age thing, but i got a 17" neck in my first 6 months lifting doing nothing but diddlies, shrugs, and farmers carries, no neck isolation at all. your traps are ABSOLUTELY part of your neck even if they aren't all of it, see picrel
>>77243826Ok, whatever, we mostly agree.Huge calves of short legged men can look silly but having none at all looks weird too, especially when you quads start growing. If you really have the nba player built; all tendon, it's pointless to train them but personally, I always had tiny calves paired with huge ankles which made them look even tinier, I managed to gain an inch and some definition by training them and it balanced my legs quite nicely. Some people think they have really high calves when truly their insertions are medium, however if you have never solicited them with direct work you won't know.I don't think having a narrow frame/slopped clavicles is a reason to not train upper traps, you should pretty much train everything. I still think the sternocleidomastoid should get direct work. This is what scooby is lacking
>>77242256Counterpoint: fighting is not relevant in modern life unless you're a negro or a variant of such. The relevant exercises for daily life are deadlifts, farmer's hold, curls and squats.
