Redpill me

Retinol makes you 2-5x more prone to sun damage so unless you’re perfectly putting on 3 coats of sunscreen everyday it could make your skin worse. After 6 months of consistent usage, I saw no improvement at best/natural slight aging at worst

Thoughts on bakuchiol?
>>
You need prescription Tretinoin
>Vit C serum/Sunscreen AM. Tretinoin PM
Thats the gold standard
>>
>>77243694
you're supposed to put it on at night when you are about to go to bed lmao

Why?

Bakuchiol is a retinol eqyivalent that doesnt degrade with sunlight but you still should use it at night to make use of the skin regen cycle while you sleep. Im the schizo OP from the other thread. Retinol dries my skin so i use the bakuchiol cream to moisturize while i sleep, plus using both retinol and bakuchiol adds up and makes a better improvement. Just use sunscreen every day, i wash my face and i apply it before going outside every morning and thats it, i dont get sunburnt or reddish skin from the sun (granted that i work in an office environment). The sunscreen also adds up to the moisturising factor. Ive been thinking about upgrading the sunscreen with a vit C serum but i dont think it would make much difference. Can any anon tell me the benefits of the vit C serum? Gemini says it basically blocks more sun radiation and it kinda acts like a deoxidant but im not sure if its worth it. Gemini also warned me that vit c and retinol can fuck you up at first but im way past the conditioning time so i guess nothing bad would happen

Dont use vit c and retinoids together.

Use a vit c serum in morning skincare routine, and retinoid at night after cleansing (obviously dont use retinoid every night). If you are super schizo for skin, add tomato paste to diet (potent natural UV protection) + get blackout film.

Vit c does many things. For me, it got rid of my redness and made my skin bright. The difference is night and day, so worth it for me.
>>
Retinol is fine every night. Vit C supposedly also increases the efficacy of sunscreen (I believe it's also a mild tyrosinase inhibitor) .

Morning:
Cerave cleanser
Vit C serum
Niacinamide serum
Eucerin Radiant Tone Serum
Sunscreen 50 SPF

Night:
In the shower I use a Kojic acid soap on my face
Cerave Cleaner
Cerave Retinol
Eucerin Radiant Tone Night Cream
Moisturizer

Once or twice a week I will replace Retinol at night with Dr Dennis Gross acid peel or DDG Retinol pad.
Niacinamide, and for a bit I was using salicylic acid cleanser, greatly reduced pore size. Eucerin products also Thamidol which inhibits tyrosinase which is the enzyme that causes dark sun spots, Niacinamide also inhibits the movement of the building blocks of sun spots.
My face was terrible before I started using my stack, oily skin with constant acne, now my face is bright with rare break outs.

Mine is similar but I don't use a cleanser in the morning instead use

Eye serum w/ caffine
SPF50 + moisturizer
Body moisturizer all over arms, stomach, and neck and back of neck and ears.

Mid day I put on retinol
Nighttime
Cerve cleanser
Cerve moisturizer
Navia moisturizer all over body.
Feet soaks in magnesium salt
+ Rub feet with lava stone
+ Olive oil rubbed into feet
+ Cotton socks on over night to keep oil on feet.

>I do
you clearly dont if it affects your skin during the day time. Have you tried washing your face in the morning too?
>>
>>77244463
Im on 3 months on retinol, my skin is already used to it. Yeah, ive read anons and random articles about vit c being a morning routine and retinol at nights. I didnt want to start vit c at the same time as retinol to not fuck my shit up but i think now is the time. I already bought it, i got a non harsh one, ill try it tomorrow, ill wash my face, apply the vit c and a little bit after the sunscreen. Thanks anon. Skinmig them all.

>Retinol makes you 2-5x more prone to sun damage
Incorrect
You are more prone to sun damage when you START a retinoid because your skins moisture barrier is compromised from the over-exfoliation.
Once you've skin is accustomed to the retinoid and the skin moisture barrier has recovered you'll actually be more resistant to the suns damage.
Your skin quite literally is better, stronger and more resilient to damage after using retinoids for a long enough period of time; that's the whole point.
The "retinoids make you more sensitive to the sun" mostly comes from the fact that tretinoin breaks down in sunlight so you must do apply it at night and people miss interrupt that into "my skin is weaker to the sun because of retinoids".
You only really need to be careful in the beginning because your skin will be sore and sensitive from the over-exfoliation before it has time to adjust.

reccs on a vitamin C serum?
there's a gorrillion of them out there

Also, i've read taking vit C suplement is better becusee the skin doesnt really absorb much
>>
>>77245558
Absorption is fine through the skin from what I read in the past. I use Natrium at the moment, I was using Educated Mess but it's like twice as expensive. The problem with Vit C serums is they arent stable and break down if they are exposed to the air, that's why a lot of them have gold flakes in them to keep them stable.

So I just go to a dermatologist and tell him to give me a Tretinoin prescription?
>>
>>77245657
yeah, remember to emphasize that you're a fag that needs to have a smooth face

on a more serious answer, you can find an online dermatologist. basically you just send face pics and a doctor will prescribe you some retinol
>>
Is tretinoin really that much better than normal retinol/retinoid?
>>
>>77244499
Patrick Bateman tier yall fucking gay
>>
>>77245343
I don’t see anything that supports this
>>
>morning
salicylic acid cleanser in the shower
vitamin c serum
hydrating cream
spf 50 blocker

>night
hyaluronic acid non-foaming clenser
retinol b3 serum
gentle hydrating cream
>>
>>77245679
