You do have a Strava account already, right?
>>
get a strava deez nuts, faggot
>>
>>77247172
All those poor dyels putting all their eggs in the endurance basket while i learn to sprint to rape as many runners at 5 am as humanly possible
>>
>>77247172
When did this boom started? It's ridiculous. Every local race fills up in a few days
>>
Look at all that raised cortisol
>>
>>77247185
based, i'm doing sprint work on one of my off days per week, it's actually very fun and requires minimal actual sprinting. it also makes leg day feel useful.
>>77247172
i am curious about this bump in running interest though. my guess is it's related to marathoning being in the news due to the boston + london marathons and the 2:00 barrier being broken?
>>
>>77247172
no. i'm not a fucking faggot so i run without my phone and without music
>>
>>77247220
performative normies trend hopping
>>
>>77247172
Run forest, run.
>>

It's a way to participate in a dating pool that excludes fatties for the most part.

sixth post best post
>>
>>77247172
Ozempic effect?
>>
>>77248485
This. Apparently there's a trend to join running clubs to "meet people". It gives normies an excuse to avoid fatsos
>>
>>77247172
why would I have a strava account? I don’t even have a 4chan account.
>>
>>77247310
Yes just upload the run stats from your watch retard. Phone gps is shit anyways.
>>
>>77248485
Nah I tried that, most people at the local meetups were either couples, old people or single men.
>>

Buddies, the main point of the post is that something is happening and running is gaining traction. Discussion, opinions and anecdotal evidences to what is going on is clearly the point of this post. Try to predict the future. Will this trend accelerate and become a new generational zeitgeist or just fade out?
The Strava sentence is just a funny bait and hook.

lmao gotteeem

Trends come and go in waves. I can feel the masses slowly being sick of the ~20 year gym trend we've had.
Bulky, big muscles are more and more giving the ick to gen Z girls.
Gymbro culture has gotten everyone bored of it.
People find running a better way to socialize and feel it as a counterculture to gymbros.

Never, when i run in the woods i want to disappear, i want to run away from society
>>

this.
i’m a 35 year old chopped unc. married.

i joined a run club and now i’m constantly getting chatted up by insanely fit girls ten years younger than me.

if you’re at all fast and can put together a good running fit, big city run clubs will shock you.

never in my life have i been chased by girls this hot.

if you’re single and you haven’t joined a run club, you’re an idiot.
>>

PS i’ve seen guys translate this into a steady stream of hookups.

the formula for picking up girls at run club:
>wait for a new QT to show up
>light, aloof conversation (even better if you wait a few weeks to acknowledge her, but other guys may be moving in so that’s a risky game)
>add her on strava
>click like on ~70% of her posts (keep her guessing)
>causal interactions week over week
>when she posts a run 15-20s/km faster than usual, comment on it with just the word “speedy” and an emoji
>this gives you infinite plausible deniability, but actually lets her know you’ve been keeping an eye on her, and makes her think that now you’re impressed by her
>gives her a crazy dopamine hit
>now you can hit

it’s pretty much that simple.

the genius of strava is that it’s built for flirting
>>
>>77247172
I run but I don't have a Strava account because I'm stuck at 23 minute 5k which is not something you want to flaunt.
>>
>>77251218
oh wow then my 30 minute is real bad
>>
>>77251225
sorry, if you wanna smash zoomettes you’re gonna need to go sub-20 at least
>>
>>77251226
what is the dick to 5k time ratio? obviously if you are bigger you dont need crazy rabbit fucking speed ill have to do some digging
>>
time is a flat circle
>>
>>77251234
the guys smashing the hottest girls in my club run ~2:50 marathons, right around BQ-level. but you don’t necessarily need that.

the secret is just to be faster than every girl (or almost every girl) in the club. a girl with a 3:25 marathon is “as fast” on a gender-adjusted basis as a 2:55 man, but girls typically forget that and just see that you’re faster than them. which is more than enough.

another reason why run clubs give you access to girls that might otherwise be “out of your league”

i could write an entire thesis on why the moder big-city run club is the best place on earth for guys to pick up hot young women
>>
yeah but then i'd have to run
i'll stick to my domme gf tyvm
>>
>>77251234
being “big” doesn’t give you status at all run club.

being fast and lean, with just a little more muscle mass than the average runner, does.

girls see the “big” guys huffing and puffing to keep up with the real runners at conversational pace, and they’re put off.

if you can squat 3x5 205 and bench your bodyweight, your body is gonna mog 90% of runners.

and the reality is, the guy in my club who gets the most tail is a skinny little freak. 5’8” max, maybe 130lbs. but he’s lean, well-dressed, confident, good haircut, etc.

this is who most modern hot girls in cities wanna fuck. not a bodybuilder.

look, maybe this isn’t true for all women. but i’m attracted to VERY skinny women, and this is what they like
>>
>>77251267
a girl at my club once laughed and said the skinny guy was “built like an elf”
a few weeks later she let him hit
