My new gym has a rock climbing wall, is rock climbing actually legit cardio exercise like swimming or erging or is it just for fun basically?

Imagine the handjobs

Bouldering is seriously so fun and just all around great movement

bouldering is great because it filters the fatties and powershitters who can’t do a single pullup. top rope too to a lesser degree.

Still wouldn't be as good as the ones you give yourself

Climbing isn't a catch all replacement for working out.
But it's fun and has great body mechanics.
Nothing else increases grip and shoulder strength like boldering does.
That and it's basically all middle class fit people

go be a virgin somewhere else

I've never seen an un-fit rock climbing girl. And she'll be able to give you a proper death grip hand job you gooner

Id say gymnastics is better, rock climbing was very easy for me when I first tried it. But at the same time we did one of those discounted days where we just climb the 2 or 3 beginner walls.

>gymnastics
can't comment on that front, idk what the Nastic boys do.
I just know I beat even the strongest powerlifters in grip strength.

It helos you grow your hands

it's fun but I think we've hit the peak for climbing as a fad and it's just downhill from here
shit got really big during covid with tons of gyms opening up but they're not all doing well

I've been wondering about this, how long can this fad last for? I'm sure one day it'll be back to just serious enthusiasts. So have you actually noticed it dying down?

Its good for being around white skinny people.

mmmh yeah, calluses the size of silver dollars

Pros:
>extremely fun
>great social club
>low impact
>completely redevelops your back, forearms, and biceps more than any other exercise, also works on your glutes

Cons:
>requires expensive and uncomfortable shoes
>higher injury risk from torn calluses and sprains, also threw out my back

I've been doing it along with some biking and calisthenics exclusively for a few months and I've never been healthier and more flexible. It's the most fun I've had exercising ever and my only regret is not having picked it up sooner.

Gymnasts have a good advantage with climbing and modern bouldering techniques were directly inspired by it. There's a lot of overlap.
