Personally I've been perusing some scientific research that shows that maximum voluntary contraction is capable of inducing a hypertrophic response. This in combination with some of the research around isometrics, potentially means things like the old fashion bronze era meme stuff like Maxick and Sandow might have some validity. If you could get jacked by just flexing your muscles that obviously would be the ultimate fitness method, so I think it's something worth exploring.

After years of doing it, I think that the average man would (all other things being equal) build a better physique if he exclusively trained with machines than if he exclusively trained with free weights. Not that you should, just that if you had to you would probably do better with the machinesWhen I started this wasn’t the wisdom. It still isn’t. This doesn’t mean that you can’t build a great physique with just free weights, but on balance you could probably do better with solely machine work. I have no way of testing this out, it’s just a theory. And I still use free weights in every session at least once or twice

Then once you hop on the juice you'll always look tight and detailed rather than bloated.
