Why are there overweight hospital nurses if they walk all day?
>>
Sumo wrestlers have extremely intense daily training regiments and they're huge.

anyone who works in healthcare who is fat should not be allowed to even enroll in those schools. imagine being some nurse in charge of someone's health when you are overweight. if i ever have the misfortune of having to be in a hospital and some fat slob nurse says they're in charge of me for a shift im demanding a replacement.

may be ER. others just sit aside from initial rounding + meds. nobody really likes to work in a hospital.

the ones who work the wards are walking around alot when dealing with patients. Probably half their shift is walking.
>>
cuz they eat a lot

Your body acclimatizes to physical stressors if they don't change a lot. You can become very strong and efficient at a single task while still staying normal in everything else. This adaptability is what all physical jobs are based on. This is why being sedentary is so deadly. Even if you're fat you can do a lot of stuff as long as you don't give up and stop doing them long enough to lose your adaptation.

It's actually insane how far this goes, there was a guy on that "my fat bitch 8000 pound life" show who weighed 900 pounds and could still walk. I worked at IKEA for a while and there was a PAWG with a huge ass who weighed almost 400 pounds and would walk around and lift furniture all day. Some of the skinny guys would sit around taking extra breaks but she would just waddle along and work all day long.

This is also why walking 10k every day works only for a while, you adapt. You'll have to push it to 20k eventually, even to 30k, and even with that, a couple months and it doesn't do much.

does that mean working out to lose weight is a waste of time?
>>
Cant outwalk a garbage diet
>>

Walking can’t outpace the American diet of fast food and sugary drinks

Thats why we increase weights, dumdum

What's your source? Grey's Anatomy?

In my experience, nurses are basically crazy and depressed roasties. Their job is wiping asses and feeding disgusting people in a dead end job that is usually extra hours and shitty pay. The good doctors (not nurses) are usually fit as fuck. Basically, nurses are fucked in the head

For your exercise you have to do something which is varied and dynamic enough that there is no way to fully adapt to it, or keep changing the exercise you do or do something where the adaptation is what is making you lose weight, like swimming.

There's loads of ways to do it, but just walking a lot is not very effective in the long run. Walking is one of the things humans are most suited to doing so the adaptation is very strong.

How does CICO play into that then?

I guess you can just think of it taking less calories to do that exercise and to recover from it. For any exercise you do you go through an arc of being inefficient, then neutral and then efficient at it. All the data you find online about how much extra calories you burn with different exercises depicts close to the neutral point of the arc since they wouldn't be getting data from absolute beginners nor from pros (who are both obvious outliers). If you're doing things for weight loss, being inefficient or neutral efficiency at what you're doing is where you want to be, which means not doing the exact same thing for more than a month or two. With weightlifting it's easy to change what you do since even slight variations will use different muscles, but walking etc. you can become too well adapted to get weight loss if you're working with only small deficits.

The reality of all of this is kind of more fucked up and discouraging, but the fitness space isn't ready for that conversation yet, so the "you use less calories for the same amount of exercise" works just fine.
>>
You can’t out walk a bad diet. Fuck, you can’t even out run a bad diet
>>
Stress and comfort food.

>t. medfag who works with pawg nurses

Murse here. The idea that nurses walk all day is a myth propagated by women looking for something to complain about. Being a nurse isn't as sedentary as a typical desk job, but it's pretty close.
>>
>>77250703
Working out doesn’t magically stop burning calories idiot
>>
Nurses are almost all smart, hot, and rich. It must feel great being a nurse knowing you’re an attractive woman, you’re extremely important saving lives, while also being financially set for life with one of the most secure jobs there is no matter where you go.

>smart, hot, and rich
i dont think you know any nurses in general if this is what you think.
