straps, belts, and any aids are fake and gayif you cannot lift something naturally with your bare hands, then what's the point?
Those plates are YUGE
belt = gay
>>77251172Eh, all that stuff has it's uses. It can be good for breaking plateaus when you're upto the big numbers. Sleeves were very useful in getting my bench from 2.5pl8 to 3pl8, id keep doing more weight I couldn't normally handle with the sleeves on and then that translated over to raw bench with no equipment. Going from 2.5pl8 to 3pl8 is a whole different game that going from 1.5 to 2, but a board full of novices won't understand that lolaids have their place and have their uses, but I agree it's very cringe when someone uses that stuff all the time and never does any lifts without it. The general rule is that the more equipment someone has on the smaller and weaker they are. You just know the guy in the bench shirt with sleeves, gloves, belt and chalk all over the place is 150lbs soaking wet with 14" arms
what about chalk
>>77251184It says 20 on them>deadlifting lmao 0.5 pl8
>>77251172I agree, but if you're squatting above 400 for reps or deadlifting past 500, I can overlook it (so long as you aren't barbarian screaming like a faggot)
>>77251172Belts are good for avoiding back injuries>inb4 hurr durr the belt is doing all the workIt's true, I once finished a rep of 4pl8 and threw my belt on the barbell and it started levitating
>>77251172You sound very small and weak>>77251472as do youBelts are fantastic. There's literally no argument against using them. They don't do any of the work for you, they just allow you to push harder. They are protective against injury. Being against them is completely unreasonable.
>>77251616When you lift rocks in real life, are you going to wear a belt? In the jungle? It's fake.>but I need belt for squatsYou shouldn't be doing barbell squats because they are gay and fake.
>>77251616This. All of this.1) if you are lifting for bodybuilding or aesthetics, who cares - whatever lets you meet your goals is fair game. Belts, shoes, sleeves, straps - if it means your muscles grow larger and you look better, thats all that matters.2) health - if stronger, larger muscles improves your health (insulin sensitivty, nbone density, heart health) then whp cares? Wear the belt, the shoes, the warps, the straps, even the gloves (although gloves will make you wearker, generally)3) for a sport like PL, weightlifting, strongman, or Crossfit - the goal is to win the competition not some nerd's idea of "purity". Weare the belt.4) The strongest and boggest bodybuilders, powerlifters, weightlifters, strognman athletes and even crossfitters all wear belts, sleeves, straps, etc. Learn from their example.5) if you have an injury or weakness or are recovering from an injury, belts, straps, sleeves etc can help you avoid further injurier or future injuries as you recover OR to train other bodyparts wjhile you recover. The only reason not to wear equimpent is that it might let you be strong enough to deadlift a 500 pound barbell, but bnt strong enough tp pick up a 500 pound piano. Really? Thats your reason? That there is not a 1:1 retrun on gym strength to real world strneght ratio? Is the guy who deadlifts 500 with a belt, sleeves and straps able to better lift a 200 pound lawnmower than the guy who can only deadlift 200 pounds with no belt, straps or sleeves? The worstthing you can say is that you wont be as strong at the exact same lifts without them as you are wih them. Yeah. No shit. How is that relevant?
>>77251648If the God wanted people to lift 500lb barbell, he would make your hands and grip stronger. If you are lifting with gloves and straps you are against the God, you are committing a blasphemy.Your legs and back will grow stronger than your grip and you will have fake muscles that are not usable in real life to lift things.
>>77251172>gym shorts with back pocketmirin
>>77251666This. A 500lb+ deadlift does nothing functional and you could make better gains just cranking out AMRAP with 2 pl8s.
>>7725159920 kg, you spooky spoon schizo
>>77251172Show me the graph of your deadlift estimated 1RM over the past 3 years
>>77251774I don't do deadlift because I am not a retard, I want to have a healthy spine.
>>77251763What do you mean by gains?
>>77251666Shut the fuck up Satan you DYEL faggot
>>77251864He means gaining more time by not lifting weights
>>77251858Are you OP? You chose a deadlift for your image on the fitness imageboard. This is a pointless thread. Post your belt less squat graph then, or your strapless row idk. This is your thread.
A belt significantly reduces stress on my lower back for rows, rdl's and front squats
>>77251648>health - if stronger, larger muscles improves your health (insulin sensitivty, nbone density, heart health)Bait or mental retardation?
>>77251172need to post body and lifts if you gonna say this
>>77251639>When you lift rocks in real life, are you going to wear a belt? In the jungle? No, but I will be better equipped to lift them than you, because I'm stronger, because I used a belt. >You shouldn't be doing barbell squats because they are gay and fake.So I was correct, you are small and weak.>>77252280and what do you think the odds of that happening are
OP has a valid point but not everybody has whatever goals he has. I'm sure there's lots of people who don't care if the weight they lift in the gym is the same weight they could lift without wearing accessories. They just want to lift it and see their numbers go up and thats fine. I personally lift what I can without wearing accessories because I'm paranoid as fuck and don't want any weaknesses if somebody wants to do bad things to me. Can I lift a huge amount? lol no. But I know no matter where I am I can just walk up to it and lift it with nothing but my own body. That's important to *me*.
>>77251172Practical strength VS gym bro strength.
>>77251648thanks chat gpt!
>>77251172Straps aren't meant to inflate your 1rm making you seem stronger, they're meant to take your grip out of the equation so you can lift more weight and therefore grow muscle faster. It's isolationBelts are just a safety device that you don't wear cos you're probably lifting lightweight
>>77251172Lifting with assisted tools is an all expenses paid trip to snap city. And honestly you shouldn’t be lifting 4 plates regardless, you will grind your joints to dust before you’re 40
>>77251172I don't care. Belt and straps help me lift more and be stronger than you with or without those devices
>>77254343>Lifting with assisted tools is an all expenses paid trip to snap city.I agree if you use them to push your squat/dead 1RM off the charts, but disagree if you don't train to failure on other exercises for 8+ reps. They can let you overload without noticing as easily, but paradoxically also work for injury prevention at much lighter loads.
