What's fit's take on health trackers? Is the accuracy good enough?Fitbit Air supposedly want to take on Whoops marketshare or is it just marketing?
>>77253060I use one with a screen and keep it disconnected from my phone/internet. It works purely as a step counter and a watch. Helps me cut down my phone screen time. Constantly having to check my phone would nullify all the gains a screenless fitness band would give me.
>>77253060The upsides have never seemed worth the data surveillance and infosec risk to me, let alone financial cost. If I ran 10k, or went on a hike up grouse mountain, or sat on my ass playing games all day I'd already know it; I wouldn't need a watch to tell me.
>>77253306>The upsides have never seemed worth the data surveillance and infosec risk to me>because you know, im so important and people are after me every day
Data is useless unless you have an idea on what it represents and whatnot. But the tracking is niceMy favorite smartwatch reviewer, because this idiot at the least compares the sleep stats vs a REM headband tracker.https://youtu.be/3P-kSxGSVEc70-80% vs reference is good. The data out of the apps are generally 100% useless, but the REM vs light vs deep vs awake graphs are useful.
>>77253060They're alright I think things like hrv are probably good indicators to have if you're someone who trains to failure a lot or does a large amount or variety of physical activity. For the sedentary person who goes to the gym to just lift a a few times a week it's not going to really give much in the way of meaningful insight you probably already have a good picture of how your training effects you.
I want one that has perfectly accurate sleep tracking so I can work on my sleep schedule to never have excess sleep
>>77253413Do you want the fitbit air, the samsung one, or the google watch anon? That is basically what the market is at.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDufSB6hKWQ
>>77253317Nope, I'm pretty much a nobody. But Im not going to pay 100 bucks for a tracking device that will be a hassle to use without violating my security clearance and enrich some corporation through data collection. I can figure out how far I've ran and check my pulse without one of these. These are pointless consumption toys for stupid people.
>>77253416I don't know. I want something which requires no subscription and I'm only interested in min maxing my sleep schedule. I wouldn't wear it on the day
>>77253317
>>77253429I had to settle for a fitbit, since iOS means no Galaxy strap. And Apple watch is too expensive as a paper weight.Oura ring is up there, but its hideously expensive + software subscription.
>>77253379Thanks m8. He'll review the fitbit air next week
>>77253379Over 60% avg sensitivity and its worth buying the air?
>>77253306>The upsides have never seemed worth the data surveillance and infosec risk to me-posted from my iphone using tapatalk-
>>77253630See >>77253490Assuming they don't fuck it up for the Air, it should be in the same area as the Pixel4 and the older fitbit. So 70% within the same stage as the reference device(rem headband), and 95% within the similar stage.
>>77254014>Pixel4watchDoubt it would anywhere near 75 the watch is over double the price of the air
>>77254018>Doubt it would anywhere near 75 the watchWhy?Same factory, same sensors, same algorithm, better battery life. Its just a different form factor.
>>77254030Well, you’re not paying double the price just to show the time, are you? They can’t both have exactly the same characteristics.
>>77254044One is a full feature phone replacement in watch format. The other is all the same sensors but without the GPS and cellular.
>>77253635Which has more utility than the fitness tracker, and is also left at home during work. You are not as clever as you think, anon.
