Is this all you need for a home gym?
>>77253111its far better than nothing. you can do split squats for legs.
>>77253111Yes. Of course it’s not perfect but if you’re on a budget it’s certainly all that’s required
>>77253111I'd just add a pull-up bar but those are pretty cheap and easy to set up basically anywhere
Ditch the dumbbells and get a power rack and a barbell
>>77253111first of all you need to clarify what your goalbody is.
>>77253204I’m not looking for any mass just a bit of tone and lower fat
>>77253111barbell with plates would be better. But bench with dumbbells is good too though
>>77253298you can do most barbell exercises with dumbbellsthe opposite is not true
>>77253298You need both
>>77253311>>77253312I have both and there are things dumbbells are better for and things barbells are better for. You can't squat with dumbbells but I like dumbbell bench presses a lot more. You can't split squat 195lb with dumbbells but you can do curls a lot easier with dumbbells. Deadlifts with barbells, single arm rows with dumbbells, etc. You're an absolute dyel if you can't understand why both are good for certain purposes.
>>77253111No, you need this
>>77253111Pretty much, yeah. For like $500 you can work out at home for the rest of your life.
>>77253331>$500That's a bit too optimistic. With 500 bucks, you'll struggle to find even a decent set of adjustable dumbbells.
>>77253295your setup is enough then. recommend a pullup bar too because the effectiveness for its cost/space is insane.
>>77253328Just dips and pullups?
>>77253295I feel like this dude has some mass or maybe it’s just the proportions
>>77253373Add chin up and australian row and this is all you need for the upper body
>>77253174>Ditch the dumbbellsdumbbells are more versatile than a barbell.retard take to get rid of the dumbbells.
>>77253514You can lift more weight with a barbell.
>>77253521Depends on his goal, If he's just a newbie and just wants to look good that's likely never going to be an issue, 80lb Dumbells with get him there. If he wants to get huge and is going for a Deadlift record yeah, he's going to need a bar.
>>77253111It's all you need for at least a yr or two
>>77253328Door frame pullup bars are superior
>>77253342I ended up buying 3 sets of dumbbell handles and 150lb of weights for like $170. Adjustable dumbbells are no doubt nice but having extra handles is a very cheap alternative that eliminates most of the tedium of swapping weights.
>>77253610Which loadable dumbbells did you go with?
>>77253111You're missing a pull up bar and rings, and maybe a jump rope.
>>77253618I got them on Amazon, Cap and Yes4All brand, they use the little twisty knob collars. The specific listing I bought with the weights last yr are massively overpriced now so just go with whatever is cheapest and get extra handles separately, they're all basically the same.Get a set of handles that's 16/17 inch in length with a bunch of weights in a bundle deal (the length is necessary so you can load heavy) and get 14 inch ones with rubber handles for things like curls and lateral raises separately.
>>77253111Don't even need a bench. Floor press/flyes is more than enough for pecs
Don’t forget to train your grip. Most guys have a weak grip
The bench is unnecessary.
>>77253806Is it really? Can't get a deep stretch on the floor.
Get a functional trainer
>>77253295Is that Marcus Schenkenberg?
>>77253328I have a power tower, dumbbells, barbell, treadmill, stationary bike and just got a bench aiming to get a standalone lat and row machine for about 500 in the summer And then maybe i’ll start working out
>>77253888deep stretch is a meme
I made decent progress as a dyel with dumbells and a cheap pull up bar. Just make sure to buy a set where you can add weight. My initial set went up to 15kg per db which I maxed fast on some exercises, so I've bought more plates
My poverty home gym setup:>Adjustable dumbbellsWell, technically they're dumbbell bars and plates, versus something more advanced, but they've worked out for me.>Milk cratesI stole them from work and they work great as a "modular" sort of "bench". >A door frame pullup bar>Wood ringsObviously this lets you do pull-ups, dips, rows, hands, and other bodyweight exercises.>A set of resistance bands>A set of resistance tubesI don't really use them all too much, or at least I shouldn't if I really want to make gains, but they come in handy sometimes. That's what's served me well over the past two years or so while living in a cardboard box of an apartment.

The home gym subculture is truly something to behold
