At what age do move away from barbells and dumbbells to machine only training so as not to risk catastrophic injury or death?
>>
Maybe when im 70 if i have not been taking care if myself and or suffered a stroke i guess
>>
Never. Im late fifties and I still do all my traing with barbells and dumbells. Only machine I use is some latpulls and tricep press downs.

Legitimately safer and superior to sitting at some machine that a Jew designed.

You'd be surprised to discover the ethnicity of the guy who popularized dumbbell training
>>
I legitimately tried this and got bored as of lifting.

I unironically enjoy free weights.... I do use machines, but i use them after ive done free weight lifts first and only specific machines that fell okay, most machines feel clunky and shit

Someone come get their grandpa. He got lost on his way to Facebook.

Here’s the subs you make after 35:

Barbell squats > Belt squats
Barbell bench press > Pushups
Deadlift > Kettlebell swings

And here’s the version for those who are not woman:

Barbell squats > Hack squats
Barbell bench press > Machine chest press
Deadlift > Hip thrust machine

What about dips

just switch to RDLs and incline bench. incline bench is easier for 99% of people, it's safer since the arc is away from the face/neck and more likely to go straight into safeties. the only issue is front delt activation but if you're switching from bench just jutting your chest out is massively easier than the 10000 queues you need for a proper bench

How often do you lift? Any problems with recovery?

Idk probably 55-65 or whenever you've losing enough bone and connective tissue density that it becomes a hazard. Until then you can just do machines as needed. If your shoulder feels funny just do machine press for a week. Workload feels like too much and haven't deloaded in a while do a machine version for a little while. Lifts are all tools in training you just try to use the most appropriate one for the current situation.
