>be me>185cm 110kg>squat 4.5pl8 for reps (not saying that's impressive, just adding context)>last weekend joined a local intermural athletic event with some coworkers; one of the things we did was a relay race>decide to tryhard my leg of the relay>get the baton, absolutely max effort sprint for 200m until the next handoff>felt tired afterwards but totally fine after i caught my breath>next morning wake up with the worst leg DOMS i've ever felt in my life and some serious back (upper and lower) and shoulder DOMS as well; i'm still kinda sore nearly 4 days after the factnow granted, i don't do cardio often, i've never trained for sprinting, and i didn't really warm up besides stretching and jumping in place a few minutes before the race started, but holy hell is sprinting really this taxing on the body? given what i usually put my quads through on a leg day i would've expected it to barely register.
Nothing unusual about that you are not weak sprinting is a great thing
>>77259412How do I go from 80kg to 110kg at 185cm.
>>77259412Sprinting is a incredibly high force activity. The velocities you hit on the track are faster than you will hit in the gym and they're also heavily eccentric. Force and velocity are related through the impulse-momentum theory. You should be careful when first getting into it cause a lot of people hurt themselves as you kind of experienced
>>77259484(Me) An* incredibly.
>>77259426>How do I go from 80kg to 110kg at 185cm.huehehehe :D no >>77259412>>get the baton, absolutely max effort sprint for 200m until the next handoffno you didn't :D thas pure fiction :D
>>77259412hell yeahsprinting is fucking awesomefeels good as fuck when you're doing it but you're gonna pay later lol
im 32 and if I take a break from sprinting I'm sore for 3+ days, it's normalit's the best exercise ever tooit's insanely engaging for your entire body, muscles, nervous system, absolutely free with zero equipment and very time effectiveI LOVE SPRINTINGI'LL SPRINT UNTIL IM 40+ AND HURT MYSELF IN THE PROCESSI DO NOT CARE
>>77259412when I started doing hill sprints to improve my cardio the first time I did 6 80m hill sprints and the next day I felt it everywhere in my body
>>77259412>now granted, i don't do cardio often, i've never trained for sprinting, and i didn't really warm up besides stretching and jumping in place a few minutes before the race started, but holy hell is sprinting really this taxing on the bodHeres your problem.
>>77259412what was your split for the 200m big fella? hope you at least broke 30
>>77259412I know what you mean. I decided to do sprint for my summer workout. Something different. Man, what a great workout but also, because I am not used to this type of force/output, it takes a few days to recover. But really worht it.
>>77259412>>be me>>185cm 110kg>>squat 4.5pl8 for reps (not saying that's impressive, just adding context)im 183. 77 kg. squat 1.5 pl8s for reps. 2 pl8s is my 1rm. i used to run track. even now in my early 30s i can do 200m at 24s.
>>77259412>185cm 110kgThat's because you're a fucking sumo wrestler fatty. Get in shape.
>>77260894When the weather gets nice I go and do hill sprintsThe first time it takes me 25 seconds to go up the hillNext time 24etc. shave one second off till I'm at 20Then I realize... if I was in good enough baseline shape that I'm only improving by 10-20%, what is the use? This seems to be the case with all exercises I try. The first time I do it I'm already 90% of the way there, so is it really worth it to bother with the final 10%? If I were an athlete maybe but for general health nah.>>77263271Either post body or kill yourself. Decide quickly.
