Do you guys worry about the standard lifting diet haven't high saturated fats? They are the prime cause of elevated LDL which is an independent risk factor for CVD
>>77259796This post makes absolutely no sense.
>>77259796This is a vegan thread.>>77259815Vegans have brain damage.
>>77259815If you eat the eggs, milk, cheese, yoghurt and red meat that the standard lifter's diet calls for you will probably get high LDL which is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease
>>77259823Do you have any evidence that most lifters have high LDL?
>>77259825No. I'm asking
>>77259829No, you aren't. You made a general blanket statement.
It's true. These are my stats:>HDL 40 mg/dL (this is low, lower than 40 is considered risky)>Total cholesterol 180 mg/dL (considered ok, somewhat high)>Cholesterol/HDL ratio 4,50 (I think this is ok)>LDL 125 mg/dL (this is ok, on the higher end, above 130 is bad)>non-HDL Cholesterol 140 mg/dL (this is bad, should be below 130)The fat from my diet is mostly saturated since I can't really fit in more fat if I want my macros % to stay in place (30% of your cals should come from fat):>6 eggs>250+ g meat (beef or chicken or pork)>1L 1% milk
LDL and cholesterol alone dont matter at all at any capacity for any metric unless you're deficient in cholesterol The standard gymcel diet is more likely to be abundant in PUFA than saturated fats
>>77259873Exercising and generally being young and active naturally lowers your LDL and raises your HDL levels, if I didn't go to the gym as much my HDL would probably be a lot lower and my LDL a lot higher, though my diet would probably be able to fit more non-saturated fats from nuts and olive oil or whatever since I wouldn't be eating 6 eggs every day. It's all about % though, if 50% of the fat you consume is saturated you probably don't have to worry about elevating LDL assuming like 35% of your cals come from fat. If you're worried about your cholesterol because you have a genetic predisposition just make sure you're tracking what type of fat your consuming, though exercising is the best thing you can do.
>>77259796>Protein >Broccoli >NutsWhat did they mean by this?
>>77259906The same logic by which they lump fruits and vegetables togetherIt's a red herring/false association to trick the unwitty into arguing a broader picture than the subject in hand Ex A and B are arguing over motorcycles riders being faggots. B made that initial claim "all motofags are queers who endanger lives"A :... And thus we can assess that motorcycles bicycles and other two wheeled means of locomotion are safe and heterosexualB : no you're wrong, they're gay and cause unnecessary traffick disturbances and can endanger the lives of children near school areas...A : So you're saying bicycles have higher mortality for kids than cars wtf dude ?
>>77259873reporting in>HDL 59mg/dL good on this one>Total chol 240 mg/DL (very high for a healthy, in-shape 32 year old male)>Chol/HDL Ratio 4.1 (slightly above normal value of 3.9)>LDL 161mg/dL (very fucking high. normal value is 99 or lower)All in all pretty fucking high for a 32 year old 5'11" 180lb male who exercises 5 times per week. How I ate:>used to eat fuck tons of cheese with every meal>would finish one of those big ass 2lb blocks of cheese from costco in one week>eat 5 eggs per day religiously>eat high fat steaks and ground beef almost every day>shitloads of white rice every day. like at least 1 cup uncooked per dayWhat I changed:>eat zero cheese ever. sucks, but its not that big of a deal>still eat 5 eggs every day. i do not think this is a large contributor>no more steaks, just chicken and ground beef. i now drain and strain the fat from the ground beef where before i would keep it all and make sure to eat it after it congealed because that's where the calories are>organic brown rice (less arsenic, by a huge magnitude) with minimal butter now. same quantity of rice however. possibly more.>cook everything with evoo, never butter (except my dirty little secret brown rice)picrel. how much fat i would make sure to consume every couple days when prepping my ground beef.
>>77259829me too
>>77259943>Nuking the precursor to vitamin D and your hormones because of meme no control group studies
>>77259796>high saturated fats?>They are the prime cause of elevated LDLRetard
>>77259951I understand that the legitimacy of cholesterol concerns are starting to be questioned but my numbers are still significantly out of whack for someone who considers themselves pretty damn healthy. So yeah, I'm taking some preventative steps.
>>77259796The LDL saturated fat relationship isn't linear or as straight forward as we are told. There are food matrix and other effects that have yet to be fully understood. This RCT showed olive oil and coconut oil to produce similar LDL effects.https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/29511019/
>>77259951>Arteries partially blocked due to absurdly high levels of LDL>THIS FOR PRODUCING MUH HURMONES N VUTAMINDholy shit how do we keep allowing you retards to post on this board
>>77259873>It's true.>>77259873>my stats:
Bump
Guys apob is the only thing that predicts heart disease everything else is a bullshit nonpredictor
i have a feeling the LDL standards are a little off. idk. it seems like BMI where if youre not a frail nerd you're considered "overweight"i can say though that people recommending drinking a ton of milk are trolling though. even drinking half a gallon of 1% will put you comfortably into the high range for LDL if you dont even eat anything.
>>77259796If youre fasting regularly that will lower your LDL levels and increase mitochondrial efficiency.
>>77259796Lean meats like fish, chicken and turkey breasts aren't going to be a problem
>>77261320Close enough to LDL not to matter. Both are poor predictors anyway. CAC score mogs
>>77261334I've been drinking 5 gallons of 2% milk every week for a decade and my LDL is 138
>>77261684more or less where mine is too. i switched to skim recently maybe thatll fix it
>>77259816???
>>77261320While it's true apob is probably the best indicator. LDL is also very strongly correlated and is the general consensus of the cardiovascular community. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/28444290/While there are not many RCT’s involving saturated fat. There are a ton of really high quality studies involving statins which show that reducing LDL lowers cardiovascular events.
>>77261873I'm not worried about it. No one ever had a heart attack from drinking milk.
>>77261684Anything over 120 is considered "at risk". Age is also important.
>>77259978>>77259965LDL does nothing without oxidation and glycation from instable PUFAs like seed oils
>>77261894idk, i think its something to take seriously as you get older. drinking a ton of milk increases bowel cancer risk too afaik.its too hard to stop drinking milk tho
>>77261900Yup milk kills you
>>77259943you were a big dog nigga
>>77261898So why do we see less cardiovascular instances in replacement trials?
>>77259796Yes.
>>77259796Lifting and exercise actually raise HDL significantly so the net result is usually favorable with any kind of moderation in intake.
I'm 33 and i never taken blood test and i eat 6 eggs a day for the last 10 years and red meat almost every single day with tons of cheese. Should i switch to a more pyramid WHO diet or is high cholesterol a meme?
>>77262010You'll die in exactly 14 days
>>77262010it's a meme at 33. It starts to matter around 45 but you're building habits up to that point. Get a blood panel done sometime and start tapering off if necessary. It's arguably 99% genetic anyway.
>>77262010You should get your apo-B levels checked. If your apo-B is low you can get away with it and not die of a heart attack at 50
>>77262010You had your fun invincible phase but as you get older the body isn't as resilient and your arteries can stiffen. I don't think you should continue this kind of diet for another 20y.
>>77262024>>77262032>>77261980https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emma_MoranoOh no...anyways !!
>>77262023>>77262024>>77262032Does it matter that im somewhat lean and walk 10k steps a day and not eat slop? I stay around 2,5k calories per day, but you convinced me to go get a blood test done. Lets say that my cholesterol is high do I just stop eating more than 60g fat per day or just quit eggs and red meat? I made the jump from full fat milk to skim milk in the last month btw
>>77262042Yes cut animal fat completely it's redundant and useless and is gonna kill you. Nevermind that it's the building block of vital functions and molecules in your body you dont need them buy my supplements goy
>>77262037I doubt a tiny Italian grandma was on a weightlifter diet. She says she ate 2-3 eggs which is 4.5-5g of saturated fat. If you follow the /fit/ diets you easily reach 20g per day.
>>77262062It has already been debunked that fat intake increases testosterone, you can build muscle with just eating at a caloric surplus with enough legumes and some fish
>>77262042It helps because it keeps arteries soft etc so the effect is mitigated but ldl is an independent risk factor and you can't out-cardio it. You reduce it by replacing saturated fat with mono unsaturated fats and fiber
>>77262067That's just in the morning, raw too. More cooked eggs at noon, chicken and/or raw meat and also cookies. No vegetables or fruitsThat easily surpasses 30g recommendationShe had WHO jews seething so hard they had to cope with muh genetics
>>77262084That's a lie btw. She ate 3 and as she gre older she ate 2. Some meat but not excessive. The only true thing you wrote was about the fruits and vegetables. This single case surely invalidates decades of data with samples in the millions.
>>77262068>that fat intake increases testosteroneNo one claimed that btw you're a disingenuous snake. What is undeniable is that your body produces 1 your hormons 2 "vitamin D" 3 neurons 4 cells walls from animal fat. It also helps with Vitamin A, E, K absorption, and fatty animal foods are abundant in those in bioavailable forms. Cholesterol is literally a steroid and is how scientists first synthesized anabolic steroids>legumes and some fishOnly one of these builds muscles, the other makes you fart and smell like a mexican. You're genuinely such a rat for lumping them together
>>77262093No one cares about uncontrolled for meme questionaires with conflicts of interest and it surely isnt data on "millions"Fat is good for you. Eat it retarded vegan
>>77262096>The only fat that counts is red meat and dairy
>>77262096as apposed to this one lady who said she did a thing. YouTuber grifters must eat you alive.
>>77262096>No one caresEvery major dietary and cardiovascular organization in the world does. see>>77261878But I'm sure you have found the one weird trick they all missed.
>>77262042>Does it matter that im somewhat lean and walk 10k stepsNo.>and not eat slopMeaningless term.
>>77262096>Fat is good for youFat is fat. Excess saturated fat builds plaque in your arteries and causes clogging. Artery clogging = death. What's so hard to understand about that?
