Weighted calisthenics + single dumbbell = maximum efficiency, train all muscles almost for $0.
This is the master training. Very functional. Cheap. Trains all muscles. Can be done at home, you save time on commuting.
>>
Calisthenics are mostly dumb and a waste of time. A bench and a barbell would serve you much better. Progressive overload.
>>
>dumbbell for 0$
Very unusual for your kind to not just take his bike straight up and settle for a single dumbbell

>Weighted calisthenics + single dumbbell = maximum efficiency

not really though

you need a pull up bar
bars for dips
maybe rings
a belt to mount your weights
and of course some weights

bench + barbell + dumbbell
won't be that much more expensive

unweighted calisthenics can be free though
as there are many public calisthenic parks
but taking your weights there is unpractical, so you need everything at home

also a gym membership in most European countries can be obtained for ~20-30€/month
some cities have super budget ones for 10€/month
so cost is usually never the issue
>>
>>77265563
I guess if your time is worth nothing too and you're willing to take years to accomplish what you could in 6 months with proper loading and 3 or 4 30 minute session a week. Calisthenics can keep you healthy and help you retain muscle but it is absolutely horrible for putting on new mass. Yes even weighted calisthenics because you rapidly arrive at a point where your form is compromised by the weight. Closest you can get is like a dip belt but then you're missing portions of the chest and have to use a bar for squat anyway.
>>
>>77265565
>Progressive overload.
Weighted pull-ups + weighted dips = a lifetime of progressive overload for upper body. Lower body however...
>>77265563
>maximum efficiency.
Not even close. Let me guess; DB Bulgarian Split Squats will solve lower body entirely? How heavy is your 1 dumbbell? Is it adjustable? Are you planning on buying enough plates for it to ensure a lifetime of progression? It so, that's definitely not $0.. So why not just get a barbell and free stands as well? Why handicap yourself when such a minimal investment will elevate your entire routine?
>>
>>77265610
Barbells are a terrible idea for anyone no longer in their teens or 20s
>>
>>77265616
You're a pussy and your sperm is weak, your kids (your wifes children) will get beaten up in the parks and wont pass their mediocre genes
>>

>Calisthenics are mostly dumb and a waste of time. A bench and a barbell would serve you much better. Progressive overload.
Weighted calisthenics + dumbbell have progressive overload.
You wear a backpack and you put more weight in the backpack on every training. If the backpack is too heavy then you move to dip belt and put weight on it.
>>
>>77265566
Dumbbell is not $0 but it's very cheap, much cheaper than barbell.
>>
>>77265707
If you're getting the 12 lbs ones sure
>>
>>77265616
Use machines its the same shit just treat machines like barbell lifts take them seriously, "accessory" is a powerlifting fat fuck term all lifts are equally important
>>
>>77265745
15lb are great for forearm work and a bunch of accessory/rehab work
>>
>>77265839
If you're 12 or 50

If you are european you can find these at street workout gyms, they are for free in the cities and villages.
>bench + barbell + dumbbell
>won't be that much more expensive
Bench is expensive. Barbell is very expensive because you need twice the weights compared with the dumbbell. With dumbbell you can train single arm/leg then switch to other side. With barbell you can't. So you need double weight.
>but taking your weights there is unpractical, so you need everything at home
You can load the weights on a bicycle and drive it to calisthenics park. Or you can ask a little girl to hang on your back while you do pull ups. You can ask her for phone number too after finishing.
>also a gym membership in most European countries can be obtained for ~20-30€/month
Yes but commute time is what is expensive. If you live close to gym you can go there, but if you need to commute it doesn't make sense.
>>
>>77265603
>Closest you can get is like a dip belt but then you're missing portions of the chest
No. It trains whole chest.
But if you want train upper chest more you can do weighted decline push ups.
>have to use a bar for squat anyway.
You don't.
Weighted pistol squats.
>>
>>77265805
I lift exclusively with a Voltra
>>
>>77265926
Pistol squats lol
>>
>>77265926
>Weighted pistol squats
this is more of a balancing act than something that actually trains strength or power. only dyels defend pistol squats
>>
>>77265603
>3 or 4 30 minute session a week
If you go to the gym 3 or 4 times a week for only 30 minutes (assuming a commute) you are actually retarded and need to re-think your time management. Home/condo gym is fine for that amount of time, i guess.

>anon implies you can do more in 30 minutes in a gym over any calisthenics workout
>dumb anon assumes 30 minutes workout is somehow poor time management of life
lmaooooooooo, this dude is freaking out about his dyel calisthenics workout not being taken seriously

Fascinating, post physique?

>>77265603
This. Penny saved pound foolish mentality.

>>77265616
I'm late 30s and barbell is basically the exact same as it was in my 20s. I even started over basically from scratch and it went pretty much the same.
I sometimes don't get how I'm not king of the world when everyone else seems like such a pussy

>Weighted pull-ups + weighted dips = a lifetime of progressive overload for upper body. Lower body however...
Lower body:
Weighted pistol squats
DB single leg deadlift

>How heavy is your 1 dumbbell?
80lb
>Is it adjustable?
Yes.
>Are you planning on buying enough plates for it to ensure a lifetime of progression?
Yes.
>It so, that's definitely not $0..
More than $0 but little.
>So why not just get a barbell and free stands as well? Why handicap yourself when such a minimal investment will elevate your entire routine?
Barbell and stands will cost 3-4 times more than a single dumbbell.
Barbell takes a lot of space, one dumbbell takes nothing.
Barbell can't train lateral deltoids, dumbbell can.
Barbell is dangerous, for example OHP, squats.

Barbells damage your spine. It's a fact. Science.
>>
>>77266222
only if youre a fag
>>
>>77265745
Dumbbells are always cheaper than a barbell because you need half the weight.
>>
>>77266000
It is poor time management if you're going to the gym for 30 minutes and spending any amount of time commuting. Just build a home gym. It's far most cost and time effective. This, of course, assuming you aint some poor anon w/ no space to put one.
>>

nobody cares about your weak calisthenics advice anon

It's balancing act only if you are fatass with zero balance. Once you learn technique only raw strength matters.
>>
>>77266091
Sounds terrible and dyel
Are you going to post body or not

I just saw my college has four of these pull-up bars. I've been hitting it before and after class.
They must have installed them in the past few weeks, no way could I have missed them this whole time.
>>
>>77265663
It's so fucking stupid dude I barely do shit in the gym and I'm huge I can't imagine doing dragon flags and other gay shit so that I can lean the fuck out on noob gains it's so gay. Calisthenics is so gay
>>
>>77265563
I think a back extension bench would be a valid addition, but yeah, weighted calisthenics and closed chain movements in general are great. Anyone trying to argue about that has obviously very little knowledge and/or experience. Weighted pullups, weighted dips on rings, bulgarian dips, advanced ab exercises and so on are hard. One adjustable dumbbell is enough to supplement such a routine well enough, but it's not even that necessary.
>>
>>77266479
nah its a balancing act, get over yourself dyel boy
