what did you have for breakfast today? for me it was

so it's smith machine bench not bar, i suppose that makes a difference. bar is definitely harder for me because balance but its still 110kg plates. looking back through my history i started at 30kg and added 10kg every 2nd week (sometimes 3rd). once i hit 70-80kg i only added 5kg per set every other week.
i used to go to the gym on and off over the last 10 years but i never really took it seriously or had a proper plan. i made pretty much no gains because i didn't know what i was doing. yeah i was in a deficit, 2100 calories per day max. i only upped it to 2650 as of about 1-2 months ago because i'm trying to find my maintenance. seems i'm pretty close to it

The RDA for protein includes a wide margin of error and you are probably eating far too much which just gets pissed out or tuned into carbs/fat. Nobody you know or will ever know has ever been treated for protein deficiency.

The protein "RDAs" are woefully inadequate. The common 2g per kg lean body mass bro recommendation isn't even sufficient. Studies have shown that muscle protein synthesis scales all the way up to 3g per kg TOTAL BODY MASS (not just lean) and perhaps even beyond.
