What's a good routine for an advanced lifter who wants to recomp? How many work sets per week?
>advanced>recomp Probably impossible anon, if you were advanced you would know this. Unless you roid of course.
>>77269954Why don’t you ask Lyle?
>>77269954Recomp is only for newbie lifters and roiders. If you are a serious lifter you bulk and cut otherwise you'll never build muscle.

>>77269954Sets per week kind of goes out the window when you recomp. The general diet is going to be cyclical ketogenic or p-smf a few days a week. You're going to basically eat maintence on days you're training with exactly enough carbs to cover the exercise you plan to do. Then before keto/p-smf days you'll do a bunch of glycogen depleting exercise. High rep, low rest, lot of sets or just one pause set depending on your semantics. For almost every major group. This will kick start the fat burning days and all you do on them is walk.Your routine is more or less normal you're just adding an amount of glycogen depleting work onto it. Then a brief cutting phase. You're probably not going to put a lot on your lifts during this time frame but in practice this is what a lot of natty bodybuilders are doing. Lyle McDonald's Ultimate diet 2.0 covers a lot of different approaches you can take to this and the specifics of protein and carbs and how to sequence this with training. Should probably pick that up if you really want to do this since everything else in "recomp" is just less competent plagiarism of that book.
