Dumbbell bench is harder. Does barbell get you bigger because you can move more weight? Or does it end up being around the same?
>>
After age 30, it’s all dumbbells and machines. Barbells are a young man’s game. It’s not about chasing numbers or aesthetics anymore. It’s about chasing longevity and joint health

Barbell has a much higher celing because it's not as gated by the wrist. But you can easily do both. Warmup 2 sets of Bb bench, then a couple sets of Db Incline bench to hit the chest a little harder.

It's really going to come down to your leverages. If you have a wide chest you'll probably not need more bench to build chest because of how much cross sectional area is being used relative to the arm leverages. If you have a more narrow chest or longer arms you're probably going to have to do both or skew more towards Db and chest accessory work to make up the difference. Lifting is mostly about playing the cards the best you can, x being universally better than y is pretty rare. Most advanced lifters have fairly uniquely tailored lift selections to work with their anatomy and produce the most results they can get without injury.

I'm 40 and you are retarded.
30 year olds larping as 80 year olds

Mixing up both will keep you progressing and help you get stronger generally. I've found that db bench seems to hit my triceps a little more but I could be wrong.

>Go to weightlifting gym
>A few 50-70 year-olds still going at it
>Clearly have healthier joints and better longevity than every machinefag I've ever seen at a commercial gym.
Yeah, you're just retarded and coping.

You're joints are dust because you're vain

I wasted years with dumbbell presses thinking it was le better, but didnt get real huge gains until I started barbell benching.
There's a reason its been the standard for decades.
But every faggot comes along with some gimmick telling you how much better it is -
>LE STABILIZER MUSCLES
lmao fuck off with that dumb shit

These guys lol im gonna PR everything in my thirties. This attitude that your body is meant to decay is a cancer on humanity
>>
I don't like lifting until I cant anymore. I like lifting until I'm like 85% done. Can I still get big or do in need to be struggling to do a rep each time?
>>
>>77271066
No you can’t. Lift hard, bitch
