Why is such a specific breed of retard so obsessed with kettlebells?
>>
Joe Rogan is 58 and in better shape than 99%+ of this board who are in their 20s. Who cares what weights he chooses. He's clearly trains hard consistently

Focus on yourself and make your own progress

I really pity you going through life with a double digit IQ.
>>
>>77271282
I really don't know. It's like calisthenics or indian clubs people just like to think this one piece of shit they got for their homegym will do everything. They cracked the code, every athlete, coach and title winner is wrong. That's the brand head so far up their own ass they can see the backs of their teeth these people are.

Most people doing KB Only programs aren't looking for "optimal", more like "the minimum"
Most people making KB programs like Dan John also have BB programs and other stuff for athletes

Rogan is not in good shape. He's an old man that takes roids. Rogan in his 20s and 30s was in great shape, however.

>>77271282
Being a pothead makes you think all kinds of dumb shit are cool. He was promoting all the gimmicks and fads back in the day, including battle ropes, five-finger shoes, weighed clubs, the Jewish "movement coach" and many other snakeoil salesmen.
When you make as much money as Joe just for expressing your brainfarts to a low IQ audience online you become complacent and fatuous.

>>77271661
Given how incredibly popular Rogan became, I think it's fair to push back when he's the source of so much bad or unsubstantiated advice.
>>
>>77271289
And he still complains about joint pain and shit. Congratulations?

i swapped from normal gym to home gym for a while now
but for this year i am at a a place with limited space so i couldnt take my home gym and there is no gym close so
i bought two adjustable kettlebells and a doorframe pullup bar/plus ring
and i must say i kind of underestimated kettlebells

they are kind of fun plus if you go into higher reps you get some good stimulus and conditioning out of something very small
i usually tire my muscles out a bit and then do some single joint variation with both bells maxed out just for higher reps
i get a good pump and i must say i look and feel better then with the 5x5 or 3x5 i usually do
and swings, cleans and snatches and rotational work (halos, sideswings, around the worlds mills etc.) are demanding in a new way
for upper body i usually i just stick to pull ups and dips with the bells as weight

i don't think it compares to a regular gym or barbell workout in terms of strength and it obviously cant replace all the machines for bodybuilding in gym but

it gives you a fairly unique mix of stimuli conditioning, explosiveness, muscle endurance, coordination
for a very small sqm requirement especially when you have adjustables

Wasn’t the kettlebell schizo strength mogging 99% of /fit/? Seems like kettlebells am an be legit if you do them hard

Barefoot shoes as a whole are a retarded fad that are not in any way helpful for physical health or performance. Performance-wise they are vastly inferior to standard shoes (whether we're talking running/trail specific shoes, track shoes, football, basketball, etc. The individual toe pockets on Five-Fingers do strictly nothing. Once the novelty wears off it's just an inconvenience since a) it means you are forced to wear toe socks or go sockless, and b) your toes are less well protected from injury compared to traditional shoes. A whole generation of midwits got sucked into the bullshit of the barefoot running guru and his idiotic TED Talk.

Ropes and clubs are consumerist gimmicks in the same vein as kettlebells. There may be 1 exercise out of 200 where they are better than the alternative.

>>77271282
It's the same kind of retard that likes bjj and crypto, they all only start training in their 30s and are all bald or balding

Its so embarrassing that I used to listen to this retard when I was younger, there was like an episode with Joey Diaz talking about how he like assaulted a mentally retarded kid and it was pretty funny while I was mowing the lawn at like 14 years old but I kept listening to that fucking retard and his retarded friends for so long dude it's insane. It took me a while to realize I haven't laughed in years and they are actually really stupid people. Genuinely retarded unfunny comics
>>
>>77272781
Well good thing you know they're retarded
Sometimes i listen to someone for a long while as background noise just innocently until it clicks 4-5 videos in that they're just a retard saying basically nothing. Happened to me with phillion.
It's a shame because with informative videos i like to be focused and all the good channels dont make much content

And what exactly is wrong with kettlebells?
>>
>>77273095
Saying such and and actually doing it are two different things, the latter being uncommon in practise. Not that you, in your infinite autism would know anything at all about the habits of so called normal folk.
>>
>>77273141
I've been eyeing one to add to my dumbbells and bench, but the way people tend to talk about them feels almost culty. Like the be all end all answer to exercise

That happens with every novelty, people notice the rapid initial progress and think it's some magical new approach that will revolutionize exercise forever. Then they plateau and realize it's just another exercise to add to the workout.

>>
>>77273584
Memey gimmick, only good to help you learn how to transfer energy during snatches or if you have no weight belt to attach your weights so you can shove your foot into the handle for dips or pullups
Useless and redundant for anything else
>>
>>77271282
I am the kettlebell retard and none of you can stop me

I don't feel any muscle being worked at all doing kettlebell shit, it's a meme
>>
>>77271282
Hipster contrarianism. It’s like this weird obsession with sport specific strength and mobility. We already know that machines are the best for muscle hypertrophy, that’s why we went through the effort to invent them.
>>
>>77273141
They are slightly better for maybe 1 or 2 exercises, but worse than dumbbells for basically everything else.

For instance, people have been praising kettlebells swings to the skies as some miracle exercise. Not only have I always been skeptical of this claim, but the fact is you can do the exact same swing exercise with dumbbells too.
>>
>>77273793
Post body
>>
>>77273829
pro athletes only use kettlebells for accessory workouts with stuff like swings and snatches which is their actual purpose, but if you work out at home and you want to do swings you might as well also use the weight for other exercises rather than buying a redundant dumbbell so people use them for all kinds of other stuff. The "wow effect" or whatever they call the result of doing swings is definitely overhyped, probably a myth born from people going from completely sedentary to exercising every day, but it is a pretty good movement
>>
>>77271282
Like many other things, it's a low effort way to feel like you're special for doing something differently, which allows you to delude yourself into thinking you're better for having esoteric knowledge others don't have. Very common cope in people insecure about not having conventional achievements.
>>
>>77273793
>We already know that machines are the best for muscle hypertrophy, that’s why we went through the effort to invent them.
You're retarded. Modern gym machines were invented to make money, period. Companies like Nautilus (which invented the cam-based lifting apparatus which is the basis of a shit ton of machines now) needed a way to reinvent all kinds of simple movements in order to get repeat customers.
Even before then, Zirkin in the 50s invented the pulley-based, weight stack machines so that his gym chain (Universal Gym) would be more approachable for the general public, and to maximize space in his gyms, meaning it HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH HYPERTROPHY EFFICACY and everything to do with simply squeezing the most money out of his new business model.

Now does this mean machines are useless? No, of course not. But they're not universally better than free weights and you are a fucking moron for being so confident in your assessment. 100000% you have been lifting for less than a year.
>>
>>77273890
try working out for 40m with a 36kg kb and incorporate barbells for weighted pull ups.
for grappling i also workout with assymetric loads, using 18kg one side, 36 other then change.
totally different workout and much harder than simple barbell excercises, transfers much better to grappling and increases your athleticism
>>
Im doing nothing but kettlebells today instead of my tuesday jog and there is nothing you can do about it
